This is a great video if you wanna lock in some surprise attacks from bottom side. I’ve pulled off a handful of these in live rolls and even in competition. A good companion to this is Scott Millers Hawaiian Headlock which shows attacks from bottom side as well. I recommend!
2 thumbs up, great system, well laid out.
If you love sneaky stuff, this is the instructional for you. Kent does a great job breaking down his techniques and is fun to watch. The only negative I have is there are not more instructionals from him. Love from Saskatchewan, Kent. I hope to meet you and train in your gym one day.
There are some great ideas that I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise but overall I was disappointed with the content included. I don’t know why it has side butterfly in the title when it’s the very last thing he covers and doesn’t even spend 3 minutes on it. Also, a couple jokes were funny but after a while I just want to learn jiu jitsu. Kent, I know it’s your catchphrase but I already “bought your sh*t”, you don’t have to tell me after every single video.
Yu game made me evolve my game where, as a blue belt, a few instrutors assessed me as a technical brown belt. Thanx to you Mr Peters.
Wasn't bad at all
while the premise is simple, the position concept of this instructional greatly helped me improve my bottom side control, almost to a point where I'm looking forward to people passing my guard
This instructional makes it fun to even be attacked on the side position!
Creative take on playing bottom side ctrl - I love it!
good realistic commentary
Thanks to Kent I now just let my training partners pass my guard to meet their demise in side control.
Getting out of bad spot help!!
Some of the moves he taught were new to me and extremely helpful. However, the frequent use of curse words was a downside. I often watch training videos with my kids around, and I found myself having to pause or wait to watch this one when they weren’t in the room. Aside from that, it’s a great video.
Kent has a different take than the usual escapes from bad positions. He advises to go for submissions in inferior spots. When your opponent tries to defend, he gives up the escape. This can be easier than wrestling up, forcing an under hook, or scrambling back to open guard.
This is really good, fun to watch
Kent is the best at teaching things in bite size pieces so you can apply them in rolls the next day. I was able to apply the basics of this instructional the day I bought it. Great stuff. Buy his ****!
fxxk
