Science
Rickson invented breathing, like Helio invented leverage, great success
Some good essential tips
I would have liked to see a few more breathing exercises, perhaps in a third volume.
I've overlooked breath work and gassed out in competitions. This is just what I needed to remain calm under pressure. Also I'll be using Glyn's soul stealer survival and escape techniques. Great instructional.

Interesting and unique
A unique take on an underexplored subject in grappling
Essential
Basically shows how to help stay calm under pressure (literally) through proper breathing
Insightful
The instructor emphasized the importance of breathing, highlighting that it's the most important fundamental skill in jiu jitsu. And he's right. I've lost many matches simply because I wasn't breathing well, got tired, and gave up. I especially liked the piece about inflating your lungs to support your entire back and core, prior to doing explosive or even basic strenuous movements. Dead lifters know this all too well, when they fill their lungs prior to lifting heavy weights. I never made the link between weight lifting and jiu jitsu. I started doing this in every day practice as well, such as lifting heavy boxes, etc. And I noticed my back hurts a lot less. It's a great course on improving your fundamentals and attaining invincibility, which we all strive toward.
A Tutorial without 80% Less Instruction
He outlines concepts without being specific about what you need to do or why; continually name drops, then extolls the benefits. I suppose if you already know all the background of breathwork, the applications he offers might have some value, but this was my intro and this course gave me almost nothing.
Good information
Good resource on breathing as it relates to jiu jitsu
Breathe to Win
Great instructional. No fluff beyond just enough introduction to set the stage and some background, but then it's right into practical, applicable instruction. As a long time but amateur student of breathwork myself (tools like the WHM or Oxygen Advantage/Buteyko method), I still found useful exercises, guidance and a few "a ha" moments that furthered or simplified my existing understanding. Great overall for anyone looking to improve their breathing and hence, their mat performance.
Breathe to Win
Great instructional video!

As a black belt with lots experience in Jui Jitsu, I'm always looking for ways to gain a competitive edge. "Breathe to Win" by Glyn Powditch is an exceptional instructional program that has exceeded my expectations. The breathwork techniques taught in this program are clear, concise, and seamlessly integrated into physical practice. I've purchased numerous instructional programs in the past, but the clarity and focus on practical application in "Breathe to Win" set it apart. I appreciate how the program emphasizes the importance of breath control in Jui Jitsu, allowing practitioners to optimize their performance and reduce stress. Overall, I highly recommend "Breathe to Win" to Jui Jitsu practitioners of all levels. Whether you're a seasoned competitor an instructo or beginner , this program offers valuable insights and practical tools to improve your game.
Fundamental for Jiu Jitsu
This is a game changer for anyone wanting to significantly improve their jiu jitsu. Most people only use a fraction of their lung capacity and this instructional is about radically changing that. More lung efficiency means lower heart rate and better decisions. It's hard to learn anything if you're gasping for breath. I really like the practical application of the techniques - using your breathing as both defence and offence. Really, this is about maximising efficiency and that's what jiu jitsu is all about. Highly recommended.
Fundamental Skill for Jiu Jitsu
Breathwork is a game changer especially as an older athlete. Most people are using only a fraction of their lung capacity which as Glyn explains is highly inefficient and just not good jiu jitsu. Glyn shows how to apply practice and exercises to live rolling and it makes a huge difference. I've still got a lot of practice ahead of me but I can see better breathing is going to significantly improve not only my jiu jitsu but also in managing stressful situations full stop. Highly recommended.
Great g instructional that is suited to all BJJ participants
Highly recommend this course to all BJJ practitioners. The relaxed breathing exercises and their practical application taught in these videos will help older athletes increase longevity on the mats and younger athletes gain a competitive advantage over most of their peers.
Breathe to win
Glyn explains everything simply, making it easy to follow. Since practicing the breathwork exercises in the video, I've been able to survive for longer under pressure and keep my mind clear enough to apply the other details mentioned. Using the concepts together should help anyone progress regardless of age or belt level.
Breathe To Win
I’ve just finished watching Glyn Powditch’s Breathe To Win. Every competitive roll is an energy battle, as well as a technical battle and I think that the concepts explained in this video, will massively improve my ability to manage my energy and be more efficient in my BJJ, through better breathing and connection. Scarf Hold Bottom is the place to test this out, as distressed breathing and failed escape attempts, as a result of poor connection, will lead to being exposed and tapping out, as I have many times. This will change that.
Master at work
Being one of the lighter members of my gym breath work has had to be a major role when learning to survive in this sport and Glyn shines the importances in detailed but easy to understand way.
Game changing
Glyn is one of the most brilliant minds in BJJ today! This material will change your Jiu Jitsu across all positions in such a way that it should be triple the price. Most guys think they need more cardio but they just never learned how to breathe properly for efficiency and competence. If you are in the UK I recommend popping into Glyn’s gym and getting a session in with him: https://sbgrossendale.com/
