Great detail for technique and
Great detail for technique and transitions. Techniques as advertised. If you're looking to tune up your open guard and be more offensive this is a great addition to the your arsenal.

Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging:Wow absolutely fantastic.
Went from getting wrecked by everyone to keeping up with world-class level people at my belt. The number one thing that changed my game, can not recommend more.
Response from BJJ FanaticsCongrats for your hard work! Keep it up!Jon's Has Really Helped My Game
In my opinion Jon Thomas is one of the best bjj online teachers along with John Danaher and Lachlan Giles as far as actually increasing your performance results with his content. needless to say this is a great instructional and the price for quality is great What makes him unique is he offers a lot of details about how a position works, all the elements at play, and all the different things your opponent could and probably will do and how you can shut those down. Basically he is trying to transfer his full understanding of a position that hes developed through tons of specific sparring and training to the best of his ability. In this instructional he focuses on double sleeve grips and how its extremely effective for building a strong fundamental open guard as it makes it really hard for opponents to start passing while their hands are controlled, you can transition to almost any other guard of your choice easily from the double sleeve, and you can play more advanced forms of double sleeve like spider/lasso as you grow in skill level I really recommend it and hope to see more content from him on here soon, hopefully a passing instructional

Great instructional. The perfect combination of theory and specific technique. Thomas gives the student structure within which the double sleeve techniques/positions fit. Thankfully, this instructional is not just a bunch of random moves thrown together without context.. Rather, he has given us the first stage of a sophisticated meta series regarding a world class open guard. I hope he continues and puts out a sit up guard instructional and a collar sleeve instructional in the future to complete the overarching open guard system. Highly recommend this instructional. Thanks BJJ Fanatics and Mr. Thomas.
Response from BJJ Fanatics:hugging::+1::skin-tone-2:What All Modern BJJ Instructionals Should Look Like
I watch a lot of jiu-jitsu, both instructionals and competition footage. Through doing this for years now I've realized a few things: 1. Most instructionals, even those focused on specific positions, are just a bunch of quasi-random techniques that the instructor decided to show you that day. They rarely form a full game, dealing with opponent's options, your responses, etc. 2. Most of the techniques you are shown frequently do not correlate to what that instructor does when the competition clock is ticking. 3. The above instructionals also rarely deal in-depth with the minutia of control - the little details that can completely change the way the entire position functions. Guard instructionals rarely deal with real-time adjustments and the retention phase. Jon's instructional addresses the above 3 criticisms thoroughly - he presents a full double sleeve game mostly built upon spider guard, leg-past body double sleeve, and double sleeve DLR. Tiny limb-by-limb grip and control details are explained fully and typical retention ideas are also covered. The techniques and transitions are explained excellently, and the full picture what's going on in this position is pretty clear by the time you finish. Can't recommend this enough, along with following Jon's social media, YouTube, etc accounts as well for extra content - he's incredibly generous with his time and great jiu-jitsu ideas.
