Il n'existe pas de DVD sur les techniques du redoutable art birman, le lethwei, à l'exception des deux DVD de Dave Leduc. C'est dire si ces DVD sont précieux et essentiels. Dave Leduc est un grand champion et un excellent pédagogue. Ses DVD permettent de découvrir le lethwei qui ressemble à la boxe thai mais s'en distingue par le port de bandes au lieu de gants lors de combats et surtout par l'usage des coups de tête ! C'est un excellent DVD.
Easy to pass on to students!
Really well-explained and demonstrated so that it is easy to integrate in own classes. The headbutting-focus as well as trapping I found especially interesting.

Nice Course with Dave Leduc
I had a great time purchasing this video from Dave Leduc . New adjustments from what you may know from muay thai or kickboxing due to the fact that you use your head to strike and fight without gloves. This led me to buy the next video NEW LETHWEI without any hesitation. Go for it!

I knew Lethwei but never practice. And this is a very good surprise !!!! The energy with which Dave explains technics is amazing and you have pleasure to listen. Futhermore Dave shows why we do this or that, specialy for the headbutt. Where and when use it, how to renforce the neck.

If you want to get the right foundation for the art of Lethwei then this is the perfect place to start. Dave Leduc is the King of Lethwei, he is the Current WLC Cruiserweight Champion and the Traditional Golden Belt Openweght Champion. Dave is a great ambassador for the Art of Nine Limbs.

Let me give you the short verdict first: If you're potentially interested in bareknuckle fighting, buy this! Now let's go back to the "why" part. So, this is a video about bare-knuckle fighting *by a legitimate champion in a bareknuckle martial art which incorporates elbows, headbutts, knees, kicks and takedowns*. Why is that significant? First, not everyting that works with gloves works without, or at least not as well as you might be used to. (Cue all the discussions about the impact of smaller MMA gloves...though, on second thought, let's stop here!) Second, there's actually no dearth of videos that deal with bareknuckle fighting. The problem is with establishing the credentials of the people teaching the material. Street fights are notoriously difficult to confirm (ask any prosecutor) and those include the use of weapons more often than not. Champions in arts that allow bare-knuckle fighting often have a more limited skillset (Kyokushinkai is bare-knuckle fighting, but I suspect almost everyone agrees that the lack of punches to the face and no danger of being tackled...well, different conditions change things - in fact Le Duc himself mentions it while explaining one of the key differences between his art and Muay Thai). Not so in this case. Mr. Le Duc is, again, a legitimate champion in an art that allows...well, all of the above! So, that's why I recommend that you get that video. The fact that Dave Le Duc has a very nice style of explaining the material (the man managed to make the historical info interesting - many people would wish their history teacher was like that...) is a bonus!

A must buy if your a fan of striking. The video quality is great and the content is easy to follow. I specially enjoyed how Dave, demonstrated a technique with its purpose and then would show a clip of his real fights of the technique in action. Highly recommend.

Dave Leduc and his Sifu are tremendous ambassadors for a very interesting fighting style based out of Myanmar when Thailand was Siam and Muay Boran was being derived. When I reference fence sitting, it's almost a note to self, as in martial arts of course there are always going to be Charlatans, but Lethwei is NO JOKE!!! This is a punch and elbow based bare-knuckle full contact sport (with headbutts even), that could translate not only into your MMA or Muay Thai game, but also as self-defense / preservation. I learned some new things with this Instructional, and I'd imagine most would as well. If you're on the fence.......get off, this is really intricate and informative.
