Very practical and informative instructions, pace of instructions and progression of moves was appropriate. I feel the video tempo is appropriate with multiple tips that will I am enthusiastic to use on my training partners and friends.
I love your Instructional I Super Learned Alot!
only into the second part, but already very impressed. very thorough
Solid. Goes well with the JD series.
This is everything I believe should be in a masterclass. There's a lot of details that I'm learning that will clean up my technique.
This is a massive and comprehensive instructional, which teaches submissions from side control top including from knee on belly and kesa gatame. Matheus Gonzaga is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and at the time of writing this review he had created two other instructionals. You would recognise him if you have seen any of the John Danaher, BJJ Fundamentals - Go Further Faster instructionals, as he is John’s uke. This instructional comprises eight volumes and in total is just under 11 hours long. The first volume teaches how to maintain side control, transition to north-south and control the opponent’s inside arm in preparation to applying a submission. The balance of the instructional focuses on submissions including shoulder locks (e.g. omoplata, monoplata, baratoplata & more), wrist locks, arm locks (armbars and americana) including dealing with the opponent’s defences, and strangles and chokes (e.g. triangle, baseball bat, paper cutter, north-south, cross-collar, lapel, loop & more). In addition, to the submissions Matheus teaches knee on belly concepts, how to mount properly and taking the back from side control. If you always wanted to know how to do the Scorpion death lock, well Matheus has this covered to. Matheus teaches at a relaxed pace and adds insights to the techniques as he teaches. Evidenced by this instructional Matheus is very knowledgeable about side control from the top and the submissions available to the top player. Each technique is performed multiple times and at different angles. I would encourage Matheus to be mindful of the need to modulate his voice (after Vol 1 this is not a problem). Sound and picture quality are good. The angles of the technique displayed are appropriate. Overall, there is so much in this series, with each volume being over an hour long. In my opinion there are definitely some cool submissions in this series. This instructional will appeal to those people who wish to improve their ability to control and submit from side control top or learn additional submission skills. The price is most reasonable, particularly when you consider the huge amount of good content.
Great inspiration
The instructor provided great step by step instructions. also, I didn't realized he was going to have a lot of volumes with tons of techniques for submission.
Was pretty used to seeing Matheus in many of Danaher's DVDs, and unsurprisingly his own instructional is also :fire:. The depth of his knowledge on the position is immense (8 volumes!) and well communicated; I now feel like I have a systemized approach to controlling and submitting from top side based on my opponent's reactions. Been drilling this with a partner for weeks and there's still much to learn. Highly recommend!
