We can know detailed technics how to entry, transit, finish cobra guard. I could learn detailed instruction of technicals I’ve never seen and my skill has been improved.
Solidand structural techniques.
Solid and structural techniques.
Good instruction and goes over a complete system that can be used at every belt level in competition and training
This instructional can be used at all levels and is a pretty complete system that gets used all belt levels of competition.
Its an okay instructional i think. Gotta drill some more of it .
I learned a lot of concepts from this instructions!!!
Johnny covers a lot of techniques from the chair guard/cobra guard. This will help your de la riva gaurd tremendously. He shows a lot of sweeps, but there are also transitions to submissions including some leglocks.
By far one of the best positions to catch your opponent’s by surprise. This is pure gold! I can overstate how VERSATILE this guard is! As a baby blue belt (I know absolutely nothing) I’m catching higher belts with the Cobra sweep every night I roll. (Again I know nothing that’s how I know it’s Cobra Guard) Even writing this review doesn’t do it justice. In addition to everything listed he drops jewels on “if this, then that” and answers the why of a move and how it blends into other guards like Single leg X or X Guard he even shows something I’m working in NO-GI “Mantis” Guard and how that blends in. Bravo!! This and Tarantula Guard By Dominique Bell blend so well together to irritate and slow down strong passers it’s crazy. I’m the only person in my gym using this. After the rolls the higher belts have begun asking me what I did and they’ve never seen that before. Get it. Not kidding at all. You will thank me later.
I have been working on my guard and found my DLR retention was especially bad. The cobra guard video covers the transitions available when the opponent clears the DLR hook amd stuffs the leg. The emphasis on come ups with a lapel or other grip has been a very successful adddition to my game. The path is also open to transition to SLX or X as well.
High level techniques and concepts, with high level instruction by a high level athlete. Totally worth it.
