Good Stuff from Jonatas Novaes
Jonatas Novaes’ instructional on Flat Half Guard is very interesting and easy to follow. I really liked the sweeps and the creative use of the lockdown. For me, the biggest surprise was the backroll-style sweeps, because they were something new and gave me a fresh perspective on the position. Overall, it is a solid instructional with some very useful ideas for anyone who wants to improve their half guard game.

It really is a fascinating way to play bottom half guard when you have been flattened out, rather than trying to escape or find an under hook to become offensive again, here your given some alternative techniques to implement, with lots of practice. Although there are also some helpful details that can be implemented straight away. Really enjoying this one.

Jonates provides great details to under utilized movements that can be highly effective. Amazing details. He recently taught seminars at 2 schools I attend. Sadly I wasn't able to make it so I hope this is what he went over.

Great half guard instructional! Good for playing guard on your back under pressure and against bigger opponents. Typically a bad spot, but you can use it to your advantage!
