I watched this and worked it with a bigger partner and was blown away how effective it was and how easy it was to flow from arm to arm and be effective with minimal strength and energy

Simple, efficient system
Pravec is a good instructor who keeps the material easy to understand. All the necessary details are contained in the instruction to make the position effective. But I agree with another reviewer that Pravec tends to talk and go on tangents but it is all relevant to what he's teaching and his NY accent helped keep my attention. Overall, this is a good system that bridges the gap between closed guard and open guard. If you put the work to drill this with your partner, your guard will certainly become more dangerous.

This instructional inspired my Jiu-Jitsu game. Silver Fox essentially shows an improved clamp guard. As someone who loves Danaher and has the entire New Wave series, I was intrigued by this idea! After playing around with split guard, I have to agree with Fox. Even though this instructional is several years old now, I think he's on to something. How many guards make your opponent unable to strike you, move away, or move forward? Being in split guard makes me feel under immediate threat. It's perplexing that this guard is not better known. But, I think I know the reason for that. Marketing. Fox is a good teacher, don't get me wrong. I love this instructional. But is he a great teacher, like Danaher? No. Fox tends to ramble and go on tangents. He'll tell you all the necessary details, but often won't frontload them. He'll intersperse them throughout his instructional. He'll show a move with slightly different set ups, and sometimes it's unclear if there's an essential order or not. Even though Danaher is verbose, he's much more organized and clear. One example is Fox's "Look, Ma, no hands" for his arm pit grip. From his instructional and his YouTube videos, he critiqued the "shotgun grip." I thought that mean holding the elbow was inefficient. However, a good ways into the instructional he says he actually doesn't hold it the way he demonstrates it, but just to emphasize the main power of the grip. I was grateful for the clarity, but the original way he explained it was confusing! Which leads to a final point. Fox is super generous with his content on YouTube. His content with Firas Zahabi should be studied (Firas tends to help him focus, too). His video on the arm triangle cleared up a lot of confusion on that strangle for me (and is actually superior to the way Danaher teaches it, in my opinion). Because of that, I thought I didn't need this instructional. He has so many videos on the split guard for free! If you're hesitating like me, don't. He goes into much more detail here, and even though Fox isn't as organized as Danaher, he does explain his system well. I'm very thankful for this, and I hope Fox gets more love.

Silverfox has the best submission oriented game in my opinion, it will take time to be able to be as fluid and master the submissions as he does. But I really benefit from the details he shares on his youtube channel and his instructionals

K. P. created szch an amazing guard system that is highly efficient for guys and girls with average lor short eg lengtht too. First he is explaining the position and the mechanics of the split guard. He points out howcto get the angles you need to make the guard work efficiently without relying on flexibility and unstead utilize mobility. Then he offers his submission system out of it. Hus explanaitions are step by step and underlined by principles and concepts so that you always get the why's and do's and dont's. Highly recommend!!

I got everything I wanted out of this instructional. The split guard can work in gi, no-gi, and self defense/MMA. It is also conveniently accessible from some side control escapes and turtle escapes. Karel does a great job organizing this instructional to provide you with his system thus saving you years of thought and experimentation to figure it out on your own. He teaches is you several submissions from the split guard and several entries as well. The ude gatame section was kind of a bonus section for me that I was not expecting. He teaches it because it is somewhat related to the split guard. In addition to this instructional, Karel will answer questions on it during his live streams. He currently streams on Fridays in the earlier half of the day, and he is happy to answer questions especially if you purchased the split guard and still need some answers.

Definitely compliments Karel’s other series, especially armbar mechanics and master the triangles. The short armbar from split has become a frequent opening attack

Highly recommend this course for anyone who wants to have a deep understanding of Fox's game. Great instructor and handsome uke as good as Placido. This course can help my open guard which is my weakness and I love split guard because it's universal jiujitsu which means it can work both gi and no gi. I have all Fox's courses and love them all. Looking forward to his future courses.
