Simple, solid, and straight to the point
What a great instructor. Very good explanations and very articulate. This was exactly what I was looking for in an introductory self defense instructional.
One of the things I love is when instructors keep things simple and effective specially for self defense, I think it's gotta be easy to do and easy to remember and train, this achieves that, only downside is that it is a lot shorter compared to other instructionals about the same price so I would've liked a few more techniques for more ground positions for bottom and top game for the streets . What I like is that the instructor seems experienced on self defense and martial arts in general so he is considering a wider context than sport bjj as a basis for the techniques he teaches here, he is considering strikes, kicks on the ground and other things. So I recommend getting this instructional for people that want to learn some basic stand up game aswell as how to start adapting and using bjj on some self defense scenarios. And I absolutely loved the techniques taught in this instructional.
Profé Rafael is not only my mentor, teacher, and friend, but he's also a distant cousin. lol. I love how he explains the techniques down to the smallest details, which is what really matters, in order for any and everyone to understand them. This is a man that has dedicated not only his entire life to the study and pursuit of martial arts, but to his family, friends, and students. He has a wealth of knowledge from real world personal experience from growing up in the some of the meanest streets of the U.S. When he mentioned that he was going to put a self defense out on BJJFanatics the only thought that came to mind was, "about time?!" With everything that's going on in this day and age, knowing how to defend yourself should definitely be a top, if not number one priority. Thank you Profé and I look forward to your next instructional videos. I'm asking him for his autograph the next time I see him. It'll be worth a small fortune one day. lol. Aim High!
