technical breakdowns and concepts that I have been implementing during training and drilling with a team mate. As a wrestler transitioning in, AOJ material has helped my guard become more effective. Looking forward to continuing their material and learning more.
Important concepts to understand for a guard player. Great insight. Easy to understand. Great instructor

Great instruction. Clear. Concise. Logical and easy to follow.
Good guard concepts. Helpful details
great
The techniques are great and the way he teaches is easy to understand. The video quality is also great. I did have trouble using the bookmark. Not sure if it was me or the bookmark itself.
Probably the best general guard course I've studied yet. Great concepts clearly explained with a nice mix of guard retention, sweeps, transitions and submissions!
Fantastic detail by Gui Mendes. This instructional is mainly concept-based, but it definitely sets up a good theory about distant management and playing guard.
gui mendes introduced a new way to teach. love it or hate it, it's different from anything here around. worth a shot, i learnt a lot.
Perfect for any white or blue belt trying to get comfortable with the fundamentals. Would recommend
I'm so glad that Gui Mendes started this series. Having done jiu-jitsu for just over 6 years, I'm growing increasingly interested in the cerebral side of the martial art. Instead of learning the basic mechanics and techniques of moving from point a to b or learning submissions from every possible position, I have gained a love of seeing principles, well taught, which allow me to open up my game so that I can create during a roll, not just try to connect the dots. I've now started seeing the principles in action, when rolling and watching competitions. I had an experience the other day where I was rolling with a good blue belt and suddenly I recognized all the possible options, from a position, at once and successfully navigated the situation to get the tap. It was the first time I've ever felt like I was in that meme with all the math equations floating around me, but I understood it all and the when's and why's. It was amazing. The kind of understanding you get from this instructional will change the way you play and look at guard play. Definitely worth it.
A huge discovery to me. Surely the best instructional I’ve ever bought and Worked on. Gui Mendes is such a great instructor. Each lesson is short but with all necessary details for very effective technics. No long speech but everything is there. It’s a gift to be able to teach that way. Looking forward to buy other stuff from Guilherme Mendes. Simply the best.
Super thorough video on the elements of playing guard from 3 distances. Very clear and helpful instructional. Highly recommend this one.
Excellent instructional. AOJ should put out more content.
very insightful!
This set was excellent for me to get a broader perspective on the guard as a whole. Great in conjunction with Danaher’s guard retention and respective guard studies.
Excellent video for new or experienced guard players. Concepts and technique that anyone can benefit from.
Unique and detailled knowledge from the guard
Great video which covers many concepts from guard clearly. Good for beginners as well.
Great vid which broad range of guard concepts. Great for beginners too.
The videos is really detailed to describe the guard technics. Gui’s instruction is really state of the art and easy to understand.
This is a fantastic video. It is short but provides an overview of a full system with great insights. For example, I always had difficulties with the arm bar from closed guard, GUI suggests a belly-down version which is easier to pull off
this changed my game dramatically! mind blown.
This instructional is gold! The concept of near, middle and far distance, and how to ise it,Inpacted my jiu jitsu sparring straight away
