At the time that I'm writing this, I've been training no-gi BJJ for only about 6 months. As a former high school wrestler, I was able to recognize when my sparring partners were vulnerable to cradles, but in the sport of BJJ, I had no idea what to do with a cradle once I got it. I'm so lucky that the year I decided to start training BJJ was the year Neil created this instructional! Because I'm still so inexperienced, I admit I may have bitten off more than I can chew by making this the very first instructional I ever bought, haha. But that just means as I learn more submissions and positions, I know I'll be able to continually refer back to this instructional to see how a cradle is applicable. It's definitely not one I'll outgrow as I gain more experience. The variety of submissions and dominant positions Neil shows that can be set up by cradles is nothing short of amazing! Thank you Coach Neil and BJJ Fanatics for creating an instructional on such a unique subject.
For some reason a bunch of cradle technicians have appeared. But Neil Melanson has the best one. Very technical and can be adapted to gi for most part.
This is no joke one of the best instructionals I have ever seen. I used the cradle with great success during my wrestling days and I knew there were applications of it in guard passing, but Coach Melanson takes it further than I ever imagined. If you're a top-game player who finds himself often in the Z-guard or butterfly, this will take your game to the next level. Also check out his leg lock series. It's gold for attacking the guard with leg locks.
Cant wait to try this!
Gold
Neil has a great combination and view of BJJ and Catch.
great series with obscure techniques. highly recommended!
It’s a game changer
Coach Melanson always has great instructional really easy to follow explained well and super effective
Neil teaches simple and efficient ways to attack the Z-Guard, Butterfly and Turtle using the cradle. Lots of attacking options from a very controlling position. Would highly recommend. Easy to watch and digest.
besides the name! probably my favourite series from bjj fanatics so far!! still watching and learning but hit the butcher shop last week!! plan on getting more Neil Melanson!! my game is only going to get better!!!
Game changing information.. I have all Neil's stuff as his techniques seem to work well for the taller player.
I own DOZENS of instructionals, an unreasonable amount to be sure, but this is by far the filthiest, meanest, nastiest, most f'd up passing/submission system I have ever seen. Neil Melanson is a sadistic freak. I can't wait to punish my hapless white belts with this; also, outstanding value at $77.
As always Neil delivers. Great information lots of details and brutal. Love all of Neals Instructional hope he continues to make more.
I think this is Coach Neil’s best series yet. Works great for Gi and Nogi. Cradle is an excellent way to hold someone down and this is the first series I’ve ever seen released which incorporates submissions with cradles.
