Craig has a great method of teaching. Love getting to use wrestling mechanics to further my BJJ ability. Will always look for more of Craig’s content
All my training partners hate me now. 10/10
amazing concepts to improve your game
Very cool instructional with great new ideas!
good content
Craig Jones approach to pins is essential for anyone interested in high-percentage control positions. It's unorthodox by IBJJF standards, however, in an MMA or non-points-focused competition, this video is loaded with great options.
High level one of the best teachers on bjj
Good for learning how to dominate another man
Craig Jones once said: "With enough steroids and enough autism, you can eb a world champion". Well, all I know is that I got diagnosed with autism AFTER I started watching his instructionals. Guess I'm on my way to being a world champion. Craig delivers his instruciton in a manner that is entertaining, informative, and in-depth. I have a fair number of instrucitonals on here and his are definitely my favorite.
great concepts and a new way of thinking when it comes to pinning.
C. J. shows how to pin your opponent down out of each conventionel position by turning it into a pin where you use your legs, arms, trunk and head to control his limbs, trunk and head. Not just his upper body. It is riding! 😉
Incredibly valuable techniques and concepts. I watched the first half of the instructional over a couple of evenings, and was able to utilize the control principles quite successfully in my next rolling session. Even though I forgot some details, the core principles are so well taught by Mr Jones that even when I forgot some detail, I was always able to get back to some version of stapling, splitting or surfing the legs, and I could tell from my rolling partners' breathing that they were getting way more tired trying to escape these positions than I was maintaining them. No doubt this will only increase as I become more familiar with the details. I would also add that as a grappler about to turn 44, I especially appreciate methods that enable me to slow down the movements of younger, more explosive athletes and methodically exert pressure, without relying on any fast movements myself. This control system is absolutely perfect in that regard. On a related note, I love the principle of preferring submission attacks which don't require us to relinquish top pressure. Finally, I would add that Mr Jones is an excellent teacher who also possesses a keen sense of humour, which made the content all the more enjoyable. PS - As I alluded to in the review title, I mainly train in the gi and would like to point out that - at least as far as I can see - there's no reason why this stuff shouldn't work just as well in the gi. Possibly even better in some places, as there must be some additional collar chokes etc. which can be applied in some of these dominant control positions. I'm sure I will enjoy finding out for myself, while ruining many people's days.
Really interesting alternative to traditional Jiu Jitsu pins. I’ve started to implement it to my game and had great success.
Great habits to develop for any level
Great instructional. Craig is articulate, knowledgeable and his sense of humor makes his delivery of techniques one of a kind. Highly recommend people watch this one.
Cool philosophy. As craig acknowledges, a lot of these positions don't score, but they do help control and open up subs and scoring positions. Been working on this a lot and have noticed a big difference, espcially with shelfing.
Another great instructional!!...Get it!
as a power bottom i approve of this instructional
Short of watching the Dagastani’s in ufc, I’ve never seen anything like this. The concepts and techniques are incredible here and so suffocating. Also Craig is one of the best teachers I’ve seen in these videos.
This is a great instructional to learn from, even valuable at white belt. I can shut down spazzy explosive white belts and am making more progress compared to my peers. Craig makes the concepts really easy to understand
Really inreresting stuff, helped me a lot in my game.
Very different perspective on pinning than you usually get, great concepts
amazing stuff as always
Great instructional, gonna buy another one soon.
Totally made me rethink how I’m learning this sport and how/why we pass and the positions we settle in. Just a 9 month white belt but it honestly has been helping so much and my coach seems to like it so well he’s told me he wants me to help him teach this. Thanks for letting me steal this and make money off of you Craig!
