The first instructional I ever purchased was Telles' first, The Turtle and Octopus guard. I leaned heavily on that series during my first tournament and took double gold in the adult heavy weight white belt division with no wrestling background and no previous grappling experience. In fact, I'd never even rolled without a gi and still won my 3 no-gi matches. All of that was due to Eduardo Telles' instructional. Now, his modern instructionals haven't lost any effectiveness and his teaching has only gotten better and more precise. I love the 2 new series he's put out on Surf Passing and Turtle. Both are easily implemented day one and EASY to watch. He's as gifted a teacher as he is a grappler and I desperately hope he'll do another series on the Octopus guard. So many effective techniques and systems in these instructionals it feels like they should be more expensive to learn a championsship caliber jiu-jitsu game from the master himself.
Surf Passing
Everyone has those techniques that work for them and this dvd fit me like a glove. I surprised lots of my younger training partners with the surf passing approach.

Eduardo's "Turtle Revisited" instructional helped improve my game, so when I saw this Surf Passing vid, I knew I had to grab it. Prof. Telles' approach to jiu-jitsu is unconventional and 100% accessible. He breaks down concepts (e.g., circling, or "surfing" to pass your opponent's guard) in ways that make them really easy to understand. I love his kimura attacks on both his Fanatics instructionals, too!

I'm a big fan of Telles, and his techniques are effective. The concepts shown in this video, the couple that I have a chance to try so far, fit into my game and definitely worked as advertised. Thanks for making the techniques available. Would buy another instructional from BJJF+Telles again. Osss guys.

It's good to learn different passing styles and add to your game. Telles' passing style is unique and fun to learn. Pulled off some of his moves in my rolls with good results. I hope to see Telles come back to bjjfanatics to create more instructionals.
