  Professor Telles is an absolute genius. His influence was a big part of my game Twenty Years ago with Octopus and Turtle Guard when it was part of the "Grappling World" series. It's awesome to revisit these amazing techniques.

  Telles is the progenitor of the turtle 'guard' system. In this, you'll see plenty of great concepts, and a series of reversals and submissions from the turtle. This has definitely kept me more safe in turtle.

  Great! I’m looking for energy conservation while producing opportunities for submissions or reduction in my opponents control. Turtle guard, as a transitory factor while effectively framing allows flow control; I’m moving to half, deep half, dog fight, Mr.Schrembri, k-guard, etc…etc… Ideally, I’m grabbing a leg, then leg pummeling to get to the back. Make the path to the back awkward, then your opponents defenses are slowed.
