Great instructional, Gordon goes over tons of ideas and systems in the instructional. Get you pen and paper ready.
The title says it all--Gordon shows a system built around butterfly guard/shin-on-shin/X-guard. He shows how to approach the guard based on your opponent's stance. If you are a fan of Gordon or the other DDS members, many of these moves may seem familiar. What makes this set really shine is its organization and the details Gordon provides for fleshing out a full game.
Well thought and structured! Loved all the concepts and the way they were explained.
Great for self-paced learning. A lot of useful stuff. Brings you to the next level of understanding BJJ.
Very detailed. Learning BJJ can be a bit difficult when you are a new white belt but Gordon Ryan explains everything so well that you don’t miss anything.
As always Gordon has put together a great instructional. Nothing beats learning the secrets from the King!
Awesome details! Big fan of Gordon’s coaching style
BJJ Fanatics is THE best place to get training videos to exponentially increase your BJJ game. Period. Bernardo and his team have the street creds (multiple time IBJJF world champion, double gold absolute and weightclass world champion, etc.) and the connections with the top BJJ martial artists and coaches (Marcelo Garcia, John Danaher, Gordon Ryan, etc.) which allows them to offer the most comprehensive and leading edge jiujitsu knowledge on the planet. If you want to take your BJJ game to higher levels in the fastest time possible, BJJ Fanatics should be your first destination. I highly recommend BJJ Fanatics!
As any of of his instructionals. Top notch!!
This was the first of Gordon's instructionals that I went for because of how much I favor open guard. I was blown away by how detail oriented Gordon is while demonstrating, and his overall depth of knowledge. Even though there are hours of content to sort through, overnight I felt an immediate difference in my understanding/application of BJJ. I could not recommend this series enough, and I plan on purchasing his other sets as well over time to continue to improve.
This series has completely changed the way I think about Bjj, the way I drill, and how I roll. I’ve seen a massive improvement in my game, the progressed has come fast. Very happy I took the plunge and purchased it.
As in all GR videos I really like his basic solid detaljs that build a good foundation, that I can work forward from.
I absolutely love the details in these videos. They are easy to access, easy to watch and contain amazingly detailed information. Plus, Gordon Ryan is one of the most talented grapplers alive.
Amazing details. Buy it
This is an EXCELLENT instructional a must buy! The layout & structure has clearly been well thought out and is very easy to follow there are concepts that I wish were explained to me when I started and it also makes you analyse your game. This will absolutely improve your game and beginners through to advanced will learn something from this instructional. Amazing. OSS
Very in-depth
Much of my game is top game based, relative to fighting and wrestling. So this idea of creating pressure from the bottom brought me here. Since picking up this instructional from my first open to now I've added much much more to my game and have been hitting these techniques in training. Great details. Oss!
Love the systematic format of this and some of his others. You can see the evolution in his teaching as this is better laid out than some of his others. Real top quality from one of the best in the game. A must have.
Just buy it already.
Details are mindblowing, I **** everywhere and particularly in open guard, but just watching this can change your view about many thing you thought you we’re doing correct and we’re wrong and you didn’t even know. It’s amazing, thank you to Gordon and BJJ Fanatics for putting this together.
Probably the only set of dvds along with Danaher’s that are true “systems” he covers the huge topic of seated guard amazingly and provides good insights insights into the “why” behind his moves. Simply amazing
After watching only the first hour of Gordon Ryan’s instructional I headed to a BJJ class and employed the basic techniques he described. I had more confidence during my rolls and more success in disrupting my training partner and putting them into bad positions. It was like a lightbulb went on when I watched it.
Great material from the best grappler in the world. Very detailed and informative.
Great resource and information.
Great instructional on how, why, and when to play the various versions of open guard without a need for great flexibility or explosiveness. This has already made a huge improvement in my game and is a great resource to go back to as I am always catching extra details that I might have missed the first time.
