Great content
Nicky Rod shows some great takedowns that lead directly to the back, he shows how to set it up and how to get there for all of them
It is very helpful.
Nice details on how to get into takedowns, while controlling your opponent and using takedowns, that lead to back takes
Most realistic plan possible
Very good content.
Very good instructional. Also good to see the moves performed at the highest level
Very good, sick stuff
Nick demonstrates multiple takedowns that act as avenues to taking the back in BJJ. Excellent demonstration and coaching cues used. I thoroughly enjoyed this instructional.
Teaches you takedowns that lead to back control
I regularly hit the low single he shows at the gym now. My favorite Nicky Rod instructional.
As someone who didnt wrestle in high school even the smallest details help my standing game a ton.
The new evolution of bjj
I love how Nick lays out plans for combining takedowns with back takes as BJJ guys often see takedowns as something separate from their game and prone to random scrambles. Nicky Rod lays out gameplans for your stand up game which, when implemented tie together your stand up game with finishing positions (rather than just taking 2 points and improvising from there)
Takedown to back take is one of the most effective methods in martial arts and who better to teach it then one of the guys who are the most consistent at implementing it.
Awesome supplement to Gordon’s & Danaher’s instructionals. Both in the sense that No Gi takedowns aren’t really covered by them as much and also nice to have an approach that’s not as “high-brow”, but at the same time not lacking in technical quality.
Nicky presented some great techniques for takedowns and taking the back. His approach toward taking the back is very dynamic and I have been able to implement it already. This takedown/back take package is the way to go if you want to add some wrestling in your arsenal and go straight toward back control/attacks!
Stuff works great, even on upper belts.
Rod's wrestling approach is so well suited for BJJ. It simply just works. Rod is a great instructor and goes through things very methodically. Also, hitting these moves in training gives you instant street cred.
Perfect if you don’t drill take downs a lot!
Simple but effective.
This instruction is gold, small pointers that makes a world of difference. The S-motion is really good, it is also probably a lot easier to learn and teach than the regular snap-down in front of the feet.
This instructional has improved my takedowns and back takes with the small details that have been explained. I’ve learned a lot from this. Thank you.
The takedowns to back control by Nicky Rod is great! Really good for any practitioner who wants to improve their takedowns.
Great and simple stuff for back taking....love it!
