I've only just started working on this program.
Good
This is a kinda pricey instructional , I got it for about $40 on special. I like it but I wish Nicky spent more time on explaining the exercises and going slow, most times he spends about 5 seconds on explaining.
good
great
Great workouts for grappling.
Good product.
Nick Rod continue to improve and to become more impressive. Even if this instructionals is from late 2020, he was already an ADCC champion & blue belt IBJJF no gi world champion before this time, so we can be sure that it's elite level stuff. I also bought the Gordon Ryan "Getting swole as a grappler" course, that was really great, full of informations and insights, but in one way I have a slight preference for Nicky program, as it's straight to the point, an organized list of exercises with a clear logic. Some insights on the life to live around the training is good to take as well. A PDF is joined, that helps to read fast and catch informations when we review the notes, instead of having to browse again the videos! One drawback, though : the content of the PDF is a bit different than the videos sometimes (name and number of exercises). So I just took the list given in the video from Nicky, to be sure. Thank you so much for sharing your program, it's really great for enthusiastic amateurs who want to get the most of their Jiu Jitsu life!!!
Lifting for grappling
Nice video and detailed strength program, but wished it was more structured in terms of info.
I like seeing behind the scenes on what top grapplers do to up their game off the mats, so I really liked this video. I appreciated his emphasis on how you can squeeze an intense workout into 30 minutes, and his emphasis on high reps (similar in that way to Gordon Ryan’s protocol) which is different than traditional weightlifting advice. As a middle-aged participant with some aches from decades from weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, etc, I’d say that this is a program mainly for young folks. His squats to the bench, and lunges that touch the knee to the floor are not for me… but there are are obvious adjustment that still make the main point applicable. His closing comments on ‘overtraining not being real’ made me roll my eyes a bit and think ‘just wait until you’re my age’ ;) Overall, definitely worth watching.
Definitely feel it and see results if you do it right, at the pace of Nicky Rod.
I felt like I was no longer getting the most out of my main workout and had to switch it up a bit so I grabbed this one day it was on the daily deal. It's a pretty straight forward workout that will leave you rock swoll #superset and will help increase the gas tank. Thanks Beastman
I'm comparing this video to Gordon Ryan's "Getting Swole as a Grappler". This series has step by step exercises and a sequence you can follow with the amount of reps and sets for each, whereas Gordon's video seemed rushed without the number of sets and reps listed for each of the exercises presented. Basically you're just watching Gordon do his exercises routine with no context given. I'm really glad I got this video from Nick.
Great workout to supplement your grappling game.
This is a high volume 6 day bodypart split that can be done in pretty much any gym. The workouts take around 30-40 minutes if you keep the rest periods short.
The techniques are nothing new but I think the methodology is superior to most as it focuses more on strength endurance and stamina which are far more applicable to BJJ the low rep/max strength or pure bodybuilding that a lot of BJJ practitioners fall into to the detriment of their BJJ effectiveness.
it was really helpful to set my fitness plan. if you are interested in it, such a nice choice!!
Good workout to get a pump and your cardio in. Also will help with strength, thought there would be more BJJ specific work and or strength explanation but outside of that a good workout instructional video.
Great workout, I’ve added it to my training.
Made my cardio for grappling much better. I can highly recommend this new approach.
I'm not really someone who goes to the gym, mainly because I don't know what workouts to do. After viewing this, I've been going more frequently and am pleased with the results.
Have started the workout, simple and effective
Good video to get an idea on how to train for grappling.
Very educational
