I like Waldo Zapata's instructionals
A fascinating and highly effective variation on this classic position. Insane pressure, and a guarantee that your training partners will hate you ; ) Also, some unique variations on classic submissions you won't see anywhere else. RIP Professor Zapata, thank you for sharing this with the world.
This man was so clever and so innovative. I love all his system.
Mind blowing. It improved my skills in the mount position.
this has Addie to my game and hade changed how I play top
This has changed my game on top it gives me better control on top and good setups
I find it hard to maintain mount on bigger guys in no gi! Peak mount will change that!
A really nice and quick overview on a specific Mount variation with some neat little details.
Zapata was a outstanding instructor. RIP borther.
Straight to the point. The techniques are shown a few times but all the details are in there. If you need to see it again, then you can rewind and watch again. I just wish that perhaps on some techniques, the angle of the camera could have shown a different perspective, but you can still get the jist of it. The peak mount techniques itself are great. What a great way to apply a ton of pressure in mount and I have never seen this kind of mount before so I am happy to add this to my game. I have always wondered how come we can apply a ton of pressure while passing and in side control, but when we mount, the opponent is free to move around and buck like a bull that sometimes you lose the position or have to transition to another position. This is why usually people prefer side control over mount. With peak mount, you are able to apply a ton of pressure in mount the way its meant to be. So if you like pressure from top then this is for you.
I can get a new approach to mount!!
zapata is a great teacher - can not be wrong with him
Waldo is an excellent instructor. He presents a very mechanically sound position and submissions that can be worked from it. This is a good find for those of us that are getting a little long in the tooth.
So the first time I watched this instructional, I felt overwhelmed. As with all instructionals there is alot to process at once, especially if you watch it in one go (which I always do because I just bought the DVD :grinning_face_with_star_eyes:). However, throughout the whole instructional Waldo stuck to a few key concepts that must be fullfilled in order to successfully work off of the Peak Mount. This way of teaching it stick better, since you go back to the mats with a clear ”top of mind”. Then upon rewatching, that is when it really starts to be a part of your game.
Throughout the whole instructional Waldo spoke clearly and stuck to a few key concepts that must be fulfilled in order to successfully work off of the Peak Mount. I find this way of teaching highly effective as it makes the information stick better. It enabled me to go back to the mats with a clear ”top of mind”. Then upon rewatching, that is when it really starts to be a part of the game. Thumbs up!

Highly recommended
Gamechanger!
this mount system is brilliant and will help you not just secure the score but also gives you easy access to a bunch of submissions. your opponent will find it difficult to escape this mount based on body mechanics principles. no hip bumping moves or half guard threats will work on the peak mount. Highly recommend it!
