Young BB Roy goes through the technical expectations for brown belt in excellent detail. He focuses on techniques that funnel to each other. Mostly detail on ground game not on takedowns.
Great Details
this changed my game
Lots of great details for pressure and a nice variety of many jiujitsu techniques
I hit something from this today, I like to check all of the requirements to help me organize my work . Roy is an excellent artist
Bought to improve my overall game to gain a brown belt. Very helpful and just goes through techniques just to increase the database rather than long lectures. If that’s what you’re looking for than Roy deans videos will be perfect for you.
Definitely a joy to watch and gives ideas on what to work on
A good background of principles, concepts and techniques for the brown belt level.
I love the collection of techniques, but what's even better is the way Roy links them together, which makes it easier to drill and flow with.
wow, I remember when I first started jjs and I was very lost so I bought one of his videos of what to do to be a good white belt. Then I bought the blue belt requirements. I used to watch those videos daily and they helped me understand a little more of what I was doing.. MANY years passes and now im a 4 degree purple, wanting to get better and do homework/study jjs outside of the mats(after hours). so I bought the brown belt requirement video. CRAZY how time has passed and I still love this videos. what I enjoy about the videos is how he explains the techniques, and that there is no background music (in the begining intro videos there is so that wasnt my preference) but then is just him with another student explaining and teaching. I would love for future videos to be also translated to Spanish. GREAT videos, thank you master Roy Dean
Superb techniques and video production
I own the old physical dvd… really good. Old fashioned, old style, but they’re not downsides to me
I've always been intimidaterd by youtube videos of roy dean's belt challenges. If you haven't seen them, look them up. At each belt, you must demonstrate beautiful proficiency to advance. Watching this video as I get ready for my brown belt, I felt like it wasn't far outside my level. Instead, I felt the details he gave clicked for me a lot of shortcuts and improvements.
Good content, but this could also be answered by your coach. If he can’t, change gyms
You can bet that anything from Roy will be worth getting. Quality as usual.
Holy S**t is all I have to say. Excellent material which is actually useful. All the questions you had - answered!
