You will surprise a lot of training partners with some of these unique catch wrestling submissions! They won’t see a lot of them coming!
will dd some useful details to your game. quite a wild card, but pay attention about what is permitted in your gym!
I am so happy that I purchased Jake Shannon's videos! Jake is an awesome instructor and a class act! Highly recommend these videos!
Love being able to add some catch wrestling to my bjj
Great instructional from Jake I have a keen interest in Catch as Catch can and this with other DVDs that show the Billy Robinson system are gold.
Great info from Jake Shannon to add to add your submission grappling arsenal! You will surprise guys in your rolls with some subs they won’t see coming. Tougher to defend something that you don’t know exists. Jake gives you a lot of this here!
This video gives an insight into the hardcore subs of CACC. Jake really knows his stuff!
Great instructional dvds!
Excellent overview of CACC as taught by Billy Robinson and Karl Gotch.
The Billy Robinson Stand up alone is going to take me miles into the rest of my grappling days. Thank you for putting this out! And please record more with Jake Shannon and Sam Kressin!
Great dvd,! As a Bjj practitioner with a wrestling background this made my old wrestling move to make sense in a submission grappling contexts. This dvd gave me a good overview with the different positions in catch wrestling. Can’t wait to get a hold on my training brothers!
Fantastic techniques from a different perspective than most bjj enthusiasts will be used to! Some of this stuff I never would have thought of - never thought I'd see someone endorsing using a "shoot" version of the Texas Cloverleaf - incredible inspiration! This instructional is best viewed as a follow-up to Jake Shannon's first instructional with BJJ Fanatics, Catch Wrestling Takedowns - but you should be able to follow along even if you haven't watched that one first. Note that a lot of the techniques here are neck cranks and toeholds that will be disallowed in a lot of BJJ competitions and frowned upon in certain gym cultures - but if you come from a more open-minded school or simply care more about effective grappling than the rules of competitions, then you can get a lot out of this. Even if you come from a strict school that doesn't like these sort of techniques, you should be able to draw a lot of inspiration from them and learn a lot of effective concepts from the perspective of a sport that you might not have been exposed to before.
