If you're transitioning into No-Gi, this is a must have. Highly recommended for Wrestlers as well.
Great judo techniques for no gi. Thanks
Amazing attention to details in this instructional
Amazing technique broken English
Teaches the judo throws that work best in bjj as opposed to teaching it from a judo perspective which makes it more applicable.
So many good tips for no gi judo and what throws and trips are most effective
Great stuff from Satoshi. Very good for a overview of the positions and if you want to dive deeper it will lead you in the right direction
Super instructional! Covers the techniques every grappler should know for a effective stand up game. These judo throws have made an instant impact in my game. My teammates want to know what secret weapon I’ve found.
He covers a very full set of techniques and give all the info needed for you to make the techniques work. This will definitely help my stand up game.
A great instructional!
Yes I liked it
I applied the techniques in this video in class and with having no Judo background I had immediate success. If you want to be a well balanced grappler I definitely recommend.
Fantastic, really added a new dimension to my game
This is probably the best instructional I've seen for transferring judo skills to a no-gi scenario. As far as content goes, this is among the most packed instructionals on BJJFanatics in terms of actual moves and techniques- Ishii generally doesn't spend a lot of time discussing the theoretical background of the moves he's showing, it's mostly just "this is the move and how to apply it". I've pesonally been using it to supplement Danaher's Standing2Ground - Danaher's course provides all the theory you could ever want for understanding why things work, whereas New Wave Judo is better for just reviewing material with your buddies before/after class because of how succinct Ishii is in his instruction.
great instructional, a fresh perspective in the standing game
was able to hit a few techniques I had watched earlier before class. instant game changer
Great video for anybody doing no-gi grappling, especially for those with a judo background.
Finally! Ive been waiting so long for an instructional on no-gi Judo and then it comes from my country man Satoshi Ishii no less is a dream come true in every way. Needless to say I picked it up without thinking and was not dissapointed. The techniques demonstrated are easy to grasp and train but hard to master. However it provides a perfect starting point to implement Judo in MMA and no-gi grappling and in a concise manner. As someone who knows basic wrestling and decent BJJ this will compliment my grappling significantly.
This was a great instructional. It’s great to have such a high level Judo player and Mixed Martial Artist teaching the Judo game with no-gi and wrestling applications.
