Good tips and tricks
Solid technique to help you get those standing takedowns in BJJ.
He made the techniques easy to learn. I liked the simple instruction
This is a good and dense introduction to no-gi judo for BJJ by Satoshi Ishii. Learning the techniques shown here, you will be throwing many people. I recommend getting the New Wave Judo after this if you want to get deeper into no-gi judo.
This videos changing my game form takedowns to submission
Great stuff, even for a beginner.
Great adaptations for nogi grappling
Highly recommended this course. Now I start every fight standing.
Helped my standup game tremendously!
Good instructional. I have been working on my standup game. Working on implementing a couple of these in there.
Despite the language barrier, all of the techniques were easily understood. Worth be discounted price that I paid for it.
Satoshi Ishi shows his olympic proven technique with some twists for nogi. Stepped my takedown game up.
Pros: You are learning from the most accomplished Judoka to ever make the transition to MMA and NoGi grappling. He shows a few selected techniques, but they are really all you will need if you are looking to adapt your judo game to NoGi. Cons: His English is not very good and it shows. This will probably not be a problem, as you can follow the techniques and the instructions quite well, just something you should be aware of.
Love seeing all time greats like Ishii share his knowledge. No-Gi Judo should be it's own sport.
Good video
Excellent no gi judo instructional
Great instructional for no-gi grapplers, wrestlers, and judo players. Highly recommended.
A very useful tool to improve your grappling ability in judo style!!!!!
Good
I have been doing judo for a little over 2 years and I found this instructional very helpful for translation grip combinations and throws to a no gi setting. The combinations shown here are also helpful in the gi as well. For someone with a judo background, I would give this 5 stars. However, if you do not have a judo background I would say that this video gets 4 stars as you will need to supplement the setups shown within with some other instruction on some of the details for O Soto Gara, Ouchi Gari, Uchi Mata, and Tai Otoshi. If you know any of those throws already, this will be very helpful for your no gi game.
This is a great video as an intro to nogi takedowns using judo techniques. I would have liked to have seen a greater breakdown of the techniques and setups.
Awesome and straight forward
I'm only 10 min into the instructional. I'm giving it 5 stars! Although, I can tell Satoshi doesn't speak english as his first language. I understand the lessons maybe even more thoroughly and what he's communicating despite the language barrier. Learning from the masters has it's own way of assimilating into my technique. Like I said I'm only 10 min into it and i've already picked up some fresh ideas to implement in my game!
Ishii is a great teacher - will show you basic, effective techniques perfectly.
This video show some high level judo techniques for anyone who is trying to translate their judo to a no go context. Great content!
