Great review absolutely love it
Definitely a huge help to my half guard game!!! Adding some new dimensions to my half guard and has helped me to sweep and submit more of my training partners!!! And, I've been playing half guard for a long time too!!!
The details, concepts, and techniques are top-notch—perfect for anyone looking to level up their half guard game. Highly recommend!
This is a really good instructional. It's probably basic to 10th Planet practioners, but coming from a Non-10th Planet school, it's kinda different and kinda advanced for some. But, very necessary to learn, especially if you want to compete in No Gi tournaments.
This video is decent for those who haven't trained the 10th Planet half guard system before. It covers some solid techniques, but unfortunately, most of the moves were ones I’ve already trained and am familiar with. If you're new to this style, it might be helpful, but for those with experience in the system, there may not be much new material.
Big uncle is one of my favourites on bjjfanatics I have all of his tutorials and find them really easy to follow. I now add wee tweaks to my arsenal thanks to him again.
Great!
Offers great control and slowing the match down.
This is a great video to spice up your half guard game. Zach shows you a plethora of variations for playing the position.
good
Thanks. I'll grow more.
This instructional by Zach Maslany teaches a range of 10th Planet half guard techniques (i.e., volume 1 - stomp, lockdown, electric chair and stone sweep) with some additional material (volume 2) including transitioning from half guard to the octopus guard; how to respond to half guard attacks from your opponent (i.e., the opponent attacking when you are in half guard bottom); getting to half guard from side control and the mount; using the threat of the buggy choke to assist in transitioning to half guard; how to transition to rubber guard from half guard; and described as a bonus chapter, transitioning from being sprawled upon to the half guard. The instructional has a total runtime of 56 minutes. Zach Maslany clearly is a knowledgeable and skilful BJJ instructor. In my opinion the instructional takes the approach of a discussion incorporating flowing demonstrations and useful insights into the half guard. The preview chapter shows you the approach used in this instructional. This contrasts to the approach used in many other BJJ instructionals where each technique is taught using a step by step approach. People have their own preferences in this regard. Zach Maslany does talk at a pace without much room for a breath. Consequently, for me I really needed to concentrate to take in the discussion. The video quality is good (e.g., excellent range and consistently sharp focus) using a fixed camera position, however to my ear there was some minor distortion in the sound recording. The preview chapter (Vol 1, Chapter 7 – stone sweep) and the trailer are consistent (i.e., sound and vision) with the balance of the instructional. Overall, this video feels a little underdone. It is relatively short at slightly less than one hour and I wish the spare hour had been used to include more content. Just call me greedy.
definitely helped my half guard game a lot!!! the devil is in the details!!!
Love the way Zack Maslany teaches, solid half guard fundamentals, good underhook details.
Fun for you and terrible for the others, amazing video
Always great stuff from the 10th planet gang!
