great instructional from the best
Learn butterfly from the best in the world
Marcelo Garcia's butterfly guard is legendary, and he's one of the best coaches in the world. If you have any interest in butterfly, you need this. This course is relatively short and straightforward, but the way Marcelo explains the techniques is nevertheless very illuminating. Highly, highly recommend, especially if you have interest in MMA grappling- this isn't an MMA-specific course, but the techniques shown are absolutely lethal.

Some think that Marcelo was blessed with blindingly fast reflexes and the hand-fighting of a god, but the reality is he drilled these techniques endlessly until he could execute them without hesitation. For beginners I'd put this after Satava's Butterfly Guard video, which is clearer and shows more fundamentals, but for mastery... watch the master.

The quality of this course is excellent but would be beneficial to see an option where the opponent is staying Kneeling on 1 leg and the other bent like on a squat if you know what I mean, in my humble opinion.

M. G . introduces you to the art of playing buttetfly guard. First you get all crucial details of the starting posture and how to cliose dusrance and maintain your posture. Then it is about gow to stay safe and be offensive and eventually launch your attacks. Then you become introduced into the concept if reshooting and distance management. You get great details on when to keep or cover or close which space to attack or re-esteblish your attack after protecting yourself if needed. All technuques get broken down step by step and limb by limb and put together afterwards so you really get it! Absolute must have!!!

Really great instructional
Game film over and over.
On the weekends my family would visit my grandparents house in the Bay Area (they had cable). I would watch hours of baseball games and watch pitchers pitching on TV. I ended up pitching for a World Series game when I was in high school by practicing what I learned. If you want to sweep someone do the same with this class. Thank you Marcelo Garcia.
Mindset
Great course! What I like about Marcelo is that he not only shows you the techniques, but he teaches you the mentality and mindset during the execution which is really important. You don't see just random techniques, but a "full story".
