Gordon teaches a ton of concepts and maxims surrounding guard retention at the highest level. Don't go into this expecting to learn specific moves and you won't be disappointed. No matter your opinion of the man, Gordan teaches what works.
such a vast amount of details that have improved my guard retention.
Only a couple weeks of watching and applying technique taught in this course and my guard retention has improved tremendously.
The butterfly guard retention has helped my game ten fold. Recommend.
Amazing vid! He is so detailed. There is no denying why he is the best after you watch his vids. He details every technique but also gives you the broad high level view of what you should be trying to achieve!
A+ Wisdom
This content is great but if BJJF could stop asking for a review every 30 seconds maybe i'd write a better one :)
I was getting my guard passed quite a lot, but after watching this my guard has been passed way less.
A must have to add to your Gordon Ryan collection. It adds more value when you have his other series.
really helped my guard retention
This is an awesome contents of the videos!
This video makes more and more sense everytime I watch it as I continue my JJ journey. Understanding the importance of not havng your guard passed is my number one goal as a white belt. Great video; just gets better and better.
Great instructional with great concepts to carry throughout your guard retention journey. I've had more success retaining my guard nowadays and when I do get passed I know exactly what I didn't do
goodf
Breaks down several positions/scenarios
It covers whatever you will need to know!
This instructional helped me revamp my guard and build enough confidence in my defense to start counter attacking
As always, Gordon covers both broad concepts and specific movements to help make your guard impassable. Not as theoretical/fundamental as most of Danaher's videos, but this is ideal for an intermediate/advanced practitioner to take their game to the next level.
Teaches you guard retention and recovery
great
Fantastic
Fantastic
great job
I've been using the techniques in this video for a couple years now. Aside from the actual techniques, the concepts you learn are very helpful to allow you to retain your guard and prevent passing.
This is a great video about guard retention. Although I would recommend it for intermediate to advanced players. I personnaly will study it in more details when I'll reach the blue belt level.
