To learn Jiu Jitsu techniques and get awesome and scientific systems watch John Danaher's tutorials. He is a genius. But if you want to learn deep knowledge with a little taste of kung-fu secrets watch Henry Akins' tutorials. You will learn rare concepts that will change your Jiu Jitsu for ever.
Professor Henry Akins shows you how to connect when you are attack which also means attack to escape and how to disconnect when you have to defend no matter if you have to defend an escape or an attack. Highly recommend!
Amazing instructional on one of the true fundamental concepts of BJJ. Recommended for beginners as well as advanced students!
Thanks for great instructional Highly-recommend this amazing instructional!
Professor Henry Akins teaches you how to connect and use this connection as well as how to disconnect depending whether you are active or reactive, attacking or defending. When you want to move your opponent it is about connection. If you want get moved it is about disconnection. He shows techniques which really lights that out and are high percentage in live rollings. It lt really leveled up my game!!
The course focuses on a must-know concept, which he explains briefly. Most of the material is examples of how the idea applies in chokes and pins/pin escapes. Good stuff, but more expensive than courses of equal quality. Wait for a sale!!
As usual, Professor Akins delivers a great instructional. Amazing how you can implement what he teaches in countless aspects of the game. Amazed.
So easy to understand and follow it’s just like being at professor Akins seminars! This instructional will help elevate your jiu jitsu in no time!
I really like the approach here. Less about technique and more about a concept that can be broadly applied. He shows it via several techniques but once you grasp it you will be able to apply it all over the place.
Probably one of the most important instructionals that you can purchase. Connection is the "Hidden" or "Invisible" aspect that separates Henry's (and Rickson before him) application of Jiu-Jitsu from most others. Connection is the vital aspect of Jiu-Jitsu that allows you to feel the application of the techniques in relation to your opponent's energy (what SBG's Prof. Matt Thornton would call "aliveness") - rather than just throwing techniques out in a reactionary way, hoping they work, and then trying another reactionary technique. Professor Henry is able to logically and effectively convey the conceptual aspects of connection; taking it out of the realm of the fantastical and making connection an immediate overall game changer. This video is a primer that covers connection in all ranges: from stand-up, offense, defense, and even "counter-connection" (for when your opponent tries to connect to you). For those that take these concepts and continue to experiment and apply them, your Jiu-Jitsu will become a never-ending journey that will allow you to train and adapt your jiu-jitsu well past your younger athletic stage. For the record, I am not ranked under Henry Akins, Matt Thornton, or even Rickson Gracie, just a guy that has had the pleasure to experience firsthand these concepts at the hands of the named masters. That being the case, I can honestly recommend the methods presented in this instructional.
