Criminally underrated instructor
Great!
very well explained
Amazing details on playing X guard. The detail about lying sideways instead of flat on my back has been a game changer. Also, the details about effectively playing collar sleeve with distance management are second to none.
great stuff from Nicholas! I always found open guard tricky but this explains a lot and keeps down the numer of guards you have to learn.
very well explained
Great stuff, a bit lengthy, but great stuff pretty easy to understand
great details
Everything you need to know about X guard and one leg X is here.
Really awesome instructional with great techniques and principles that are easy to use!
Awesome instructional!
Amazing details! The adjustments I have already made to my game has been a game changer already!
Meregali has always been one of the bests at X-Guard. This is a must!
Nicolas is a great instructor, as he gives so many small game changing details. Not just that he can destroy everyone in competition, he is also able to articulate how to do it. A true master of the art!
Nicholas Meregali teaches how to get under your opponent's hips and how to correct failure and mistakes to ensure to hit your atracks. He shows his and how to combine them. Highly recommend!!
Great tutorial so far. Nicholas give all the details
Excellent small details on making the X guard work better, and different ways to get there. It really simplified the whole system for me.
I loved Meregali's old videos. he was already a great teacher. still, he really improved under any aspect. this gonna be a must have series.
I used to watch Meregali’s old vids. They were awesome, and it’s incredible how much he improved as a teacher
Great instruction on how to play the highly effective x-guard game that Meregali has been using to beat everyone lately. A complete game including entries and retention!
It's great to learn from the best Gi athlete. Meregali’s English is improving a lot too.
This and the front attacks are exactly what Nicholas both teaches in his classes and what he uses in competition. Learning to get under the hips and control the opponent’s balance as well as opening up dozens of sweep opportunities has totally changed my game. Highly recommend these videos for anyone who loves training in the gi and wants to understand the evolution of where gi jiu jitsu is going
Wonderful system of working under the opponents center of gravity to off balance and sweep. These concepts definitely improved my game!
I’ve spent the majority of my time implementing this instructional, and it’s paying off, I like being under the hips and attacking for sweeps, but the best part is keeping them off balanced and with hands on the mat, this one was a huge eye opener for me, deserves more than 5 stars.
In this series, the defining principle is reducing the energy you expend while dramatically increasing the energy your opponent spends. Break down your opponent, not just structurally, but psychologically. With the lessons taught in Under The Hips, you will learn to own your opponents weight with ease, disrupt their capacity to setup offensive movements, and ultimately out-work them into submission. As you improve in the off-balancing techniques, you'll find opponents effectively sweeping themselves as they struggle in desperation to escape your guard, fend off the threat of attacks, and ultimately remove their will to fight, all before even getting to the desired submission. By the time you're entering into your choke or lock of choice, they're ready to tap and they'll thank you for making it look good when they tap.
