Every movement he teaches has a purpose, and you can tell these are techniques that work at the highest levels. Now, full honesty: it’s going to take me a bit of practice (and probably some ibuprofen) to really get the most out of it. This is one of those instructionals where the details are gold, but your timing and coordination need to be dialed in to make it sing. So if you’re like me—50, not made of rubber, and still trying to master your angles—don’t worry, Meregali gives you a blueprint, not just highlights. What I appreciated: Clear, precise instruction on building an open guard game that actually leads to attacks. Strong focus on grips, posture, and breaking balance—not just throwing random stuff and hoping it sticks. Great for building long-term success with guard—not just trick plays. This is an instructional I’ll be revisiting often as I develop the timing and fluidity to use it effectively. If you’re willing to put in the reps, it’s a fantastic resource. Highly recommended for anyone looking to upgrade their open guard with fundamentals that work way beyond fundamentals.
