great
Escaping the sidecontrol is one of the hardest subjects to get done. Especially when your opponent forces the pin over all other techniques. The idea of the second guard in terms of bringing your legs into play in union with your whole body and pin your opponent from side control bottom is actually bringing a whole new toolkit into the game for me. It is still quite hard to escape the late stages of side control but nevertheless a way easier. Everyone should have the second guard game in their arsenal!!
The details Paul presents for escaping side control are better than what John Danaher presented in his GFF series. It obviously doesn't cover as many positions though.
I think the details in this instructional were better and more concise than the ones in John Danaher's GFF Escape instructional.
Paul teach an innovative system to be active in an usually passive position. I.e.: being dangerous when not expected
Everyone can learn something from this. Covers everything from defensive posture to escapes and counter attacks with Paul's usual mastery of concepts and technical details. S I started seeing the benefits very quickly. Highly recommended.
I highly recommend this instructional, as it contains information you won’t find anywhere else. Paul Schreiner is Marcelo Garcia’s main instructor, and it shows in the precise way he teaches his concepts. The elbow push escape alone is worth the price, and is a demonstration of MG unique and efficient style of Jiu-Jitsu.
Paul Schreiner is one of the best teachers in the game. I'd recommend this instructional for later white belts+ who are looking to hone their side control survival and escape skills.
A whole lot of info for beginners to advanced. Very good in depth knowledge being passed on.
Nice addition to side control. Goes well as add on to the MG series.
If you are a serious about your study of Jiu-Jitsu, I can only recommend Paul's instructional videos. The depth of his knowledge and his capacity to share it clearly makes him in my opinion one of the best instructors around.
Great instructional from Paul. I can only recommend any serious practitioners to check out the Paul's video's. He has an incredible depth of knowledge and has the teaching skills needed to share it - useless to say that this is a rare combination to find.
Great instructional video!
Another great instructional from Paul and one of my top 3 instructors on BJJ Fanatics. Like Danaher Paul is a black belt's black belt instructor
I bought this video after watching the John Danaher escape series. I wanted to work on guard retention at the various stages of passing. This video has been incredibly helpful in providing escape options from some tricky scenarios as well as framing techniques for keeping your arms safe and in the game. Definitely a great video if you want to take your prevention and escapes to the next level. Lots of reversals as well.
