Well organized instructional Succinct and to the point Great details
Paul is a master of Everything he does, I have this and volume 2
This is a good control position and works well together with open guard stuff.
great
P. S. created one of the best series on closed guard techniques in serveral terms using the pistol grip as an progressive entrance. First in terms of how to act from the closed guard based on keeping your guard closed and sweep your opponent. Second in terms of how to connect sweeps where you open your closed guard to sweep your opponent and transfer into submissions if you cannot get the sweep and the other way arround. Third in terms of transitioning into slx and k-gaurd. Beside the obvious back take sections there is also given a back takes form the k-guard. Outstanding in my opinion is also the twisted arm control section where he shows how the get the omplata or get an inverted armbar or can take his back too. Highly recommend!!
Works well against larger opponents, especially the ones that love pressure passing and stalling.
Great instructional
This one is great and pairs well with the 2 on 1 open guard dvd by Paul
Another Paul Schreiner! Paul places such a heavy emphasis on explaining theory and structure, that the techniques themselves become very self-explanatory and easy to execute in live rolling. The day after watching this I was able to take a brown belts back. The pistol grip has turned into my new favorite toy for guard play.
I bought both 2 on 1 videos recently and they are amazing. Paul is an incredible instructor and explains every move perfectly. I have already seen great results in my game by incorporating the 2 on 1.
I greatly appreciate Paul Schreiner's instructional videos and the sharing of his knowledge of the closed guard.
Great instructional video !
This is my go to guard this instructional is a easy to follow guide. I wish I had this instructional years ago, it would have saved me years of Trial an error.
I cannot say enough good things about Paul as an instructor and human. We recently had him out for a seminar and he took extra time with us discussing this pistol grip concept after briefly mentioning it while showing technique. I was surprised to see this instructional afterwards and made it a point to start a deeper dive. Like all things Paul Schreiner does your this is well thought out, well communicated and a great way to start building a game instead of collecting techniques. I would recommend this to anyone struggling to develop their closed guard or anyone looking for some solid fundamental tips to take yours to the next level!
