Lachlan’s K guard series is great! His instructional’s always offer the best value. He’s one of the best at breaking things down to make it super easy to understand!
First and foremost, I've never met Lachlan. I just a 45 year old BJJ brown belt who has been doing BJJ for 10 years, and has amassed a way too large BJJ (and wrestling, striking, self-defense lol) fanatics instructional collection since Jan 2018 lol. I've got 1000s of hours I will probably never even get to. With that said, I have to put over this instructional and everything Lachlan has put out since his Leg Lock Anthology as the very best instructionals of the many great ones that Fanatics has to offer! Lachlan is a great instructor, and you can tell he put a ton of effort and pride into these. The cost is way cheaper then the Danaher guys, and every bit as detailed and thorough with eay less "filler" time. I don't write many reviews even though I purchase a ton, but feel obligated to when it comes to how good Mr. Giles are!!
I love Lachlan's work on this site because it is fantastic value for money, he also seems like a great mix of competitor and coach, and down to earth guy who you want to root for.
Great
I really like Lachlans approach to teaching. Its not to complicated and not to mutch talking. This one was great for developing my open guard game.
K Guard instructional is broken down in a way that makes it easy to understand the system entry and possible finishing options. Tons of great content to dive into and work on the finer details for months/years.
Lachlan Giles instructionals are as always the gold standard when it comes to instructionals (together with John Danaher and Gordon Ryan) while offering the cheapest price. With this open guard series being his best instructionals to date giving a clear overview and roadmap of lachlans open guard game with a heavy focus on outside foot position. I would recommend anyone that is even remotely interested in lachlans game to get this volume 1 K-Guard , as it gives a general overview of this series in the introduction with a full overview of his famous K-Guard. Adding and understanding the other 2 volumes after that is very easy and completes your understanding of his game
Well structured instructional which is part of a bigger guard and guard retention construct. Lachlan really helps me improve my guard!
Clear, concise and super easy to follow
Awesome!
Lachlan does of great job of showing how the position/system connects to other common guards, so it’s relatively straightforward to integrate it into an existing game. Highly recommended.
very nice!!
Very thorough. Not for beginners, though. Highly recommend it if you are an intermediate grappler.
Just Fantastic. Incredible Organization. A lot of effort was put into this series, and it shows. Very helpful to me for continuing in learning Open Guard Concepts, I had been hungry for K guard instruction!
Extremely valuable to those who have little experience of playing guard with their feet on the outside. An excellent primer to explore a new system of guard play.
This instructional is well put together as always. I can’t recommend it more
!!!
Another killer instructional from Lachlan, i own nearly every one of his as i find his delivery and methods for explaining plus narrated rolls help me more than any others. The quality and quantity of his content always make it a worthwhile purchase
Lachlan is masterful in his presentation and delivery of his material!
Insanely good stuff. Giles’ vids always impress me with the level of detail, and options provided. If you want to develop spider sense his vids are a must. K guard isn’t easy but he breaks it down so completely you can build your game with it with 100% confidence. Game changing video in my book.
In my opinion, this seems to be his best DVD yet. He has put a lot of thought and detail into it and has given a very good and thorough high level overview consisting of the different positions you can play.
Great content and well put together. Gordon, Danaher, and Lachlan are the 3 best instructors on bjj fanatics.
good
Love all of Lachlan’s instructionals. Wanted to improve my no GI open guard game. I will also be purchasing parts 2 and 3.
I’ve been training Jiu-Jitsu for 10 years and the world of Jiu-Jitsu has changed so much. Need to stay up to date with the evolution of our sport and Lachlan’s teaching style is great for the more advanced student.
