If you want to get into the specific biomechanics of the archetypal movements in Jiu-jitsu, this is a must-see. It can be immensely beneficial for both students and teachers looking to expand their perspectives of the "why" behind every movement.
Has helped keep the body moving throughout the COVID times! Very grateful for this breakdown of movements. Especially when I practice Solo.
Quarentine sucks, but having a treat like the material in this dvd really helped me not feel like my technique was diminishing while not being able to practice!
JD is a fantastic instructor!
Excellent drills, insight and an abundance of knowledge and tools to keep you busy solo.
Excellent
Lots of practical info and overaps with the guard retention and escapes vids.
This instructional was top notch. I didn’t realize how much some shrimp work and some of these other movements would drastically improve my game. Def worth the time. And worth all the $$ when they start charging for it again
Teaches you how to move on the ground which is where high level players excel.
Helps during these times of isolation and away from the mats.
I love John Danahers teaching style. Here, he explains the why behind each move and exercise. As a purple belt, I knew some of the moves of course, yet his teachings explained new ways to use some of them, such as the reverse shrimp, or the best way to bridge for BJJ. I walked away feeling I had a better understanding of the why behind each move, and how to execute them efficiently. I’ve been benefiting from the toes to bar exercise as well, which I had never incorporated into my workouts before.
I watched this and was immediately floored by the not-so-subtle things I was doing wrong - as well as the fine details that could immediately improve my skill set. The instruction is precise, explained well, and is shared in a way that makes sense. The devil is in the details, and after watching the videos, then doing some of the drills WHILE watching the videos...things clicked. After some practice and thought, I was able to employ one, maybe two of the moves while sparring with a partner (who had watched and practiced the video with me). We both stopped mid-roll to exclaim - "Hey, that was from the video" and had a huge laugh about it. So, yes....watch, then try, then employ the technique as you see fit. This definitely helped me.
Excellent training from the mastermind himself!
Great during the lockdown! John Danaher explains everything in detail and the reasons why !
Great job!
I find the techniques and exercises taught in this video useful in improving and understanding the common moves used for sparing.
Great fundamental breakdown of Brazilian Jiujitsu movements. A great refresher and perfect timing for current circumstances. Definitely helped tremendously. I’m a black belt and it definitely gave me new ideas on how to coach new students and develop their coordination in BJJ.
It's more than a set of drills. This instructional tells you why the drills matter and how they apply directly to your Jiu jitsu. It's fantastic, like everything from John Danaher.
Love the details.
Danaher is the most eloquent teacher I've ever witnessed
John Danaher does an excellent job in explaining how to execute each of these vital techniques. Before this instructional, I was -as a white belt- utterly unaware of the importance of these foundational techniques. The cool thing has been to notice that the applications of these techniques on the mat are extremely effective.
Solid drills for a time when we can’t train the way we want to. And no excuse to leave these behind even when we get back to the gym.
Great for beginners or intermediate students, who wants to know and improve fundamentals. With strong fundamentals which you learn here on point, your game will improve overall.
Best site for bjj
Danaher has incredible insight in the application of body movement, and he gives hours worth of it in this video.
