It covers all the unique techniques for donkey guard. However it would be nice to see a sweep besides just bucking them off with momentum.
Is it a bit silly? Yes, but it still works and can be effective when applied. I use seated donkey guard often to set up sweeps and submissions with ease. Definitely worth it if you like inverting and expanding your game.
I had so much fun watching this video tutorial that I watched it all at once. The next day I was in a rush to the gym to try these techniques out. A great set about how it is useful and important to also think outside the box and where it can take you on your bjj journey. Informative and educational. When things are fun, there is enough motivation even when things are hard.
I've been reviewing some of these techniques for a few months now and I will say..........after watching part 1 of this 3 part series, I was convinced that Jeff was teaching some bullshido martial arts. However, I have been wanting to learn how to use Donkey Guard, so I decided to power through it; his "Dirty D'arcing" series made me find my #1 attack, so that helped give him a chance with the rest. During training sessions, I would drill the Ryan Hall entry, Double leg entry, Reverse Mount, and a few others before class started and in the later rounds. Not going to lie, you should get used to holding that position to work your leg and core strength first before getting deep into the techniques and giving up because they aren't working for you at that time. So far, I'm getting more comfortable using it in practice and managed to terrorize one of our guys by chasing them across the mats from the Donkey stance. Overall, I think this is a fun series to learn and showoff to lesser experienced and entry-level grapplers, especially when you are the head instructor of a Jiu-Jitsu club at your university. I haven't had the chance to use it in competition yet for obvious reasons, but I think if you have a little bit of experience with it, it can really psych out your opponent.
