Real value of money. This instruction is packed with information. It goes beyond what you expect from half guard instructional. It also covers sit up guard, shin to shin, reverse DLR, dog fight etc. Highly recommend all Lachlan"s instructions! The most completed instructionals on a good price!

As a beginner, id say two major pros are: 1) that after the details are explained, the technique is demonstrated with small clips of situational sparing to see how they work live. And 2) that the instructional weaves the half guard position to other closely connected positions (RDLR, sit up guard, X, single X, etc). This promotes a greater understanding of how the position connects to others and is extremely helpful! Great structure. Excellent content. Well worth it.

This is the most detailed instructional I have ever purchased. It covers entries, principles of control, retention, recovery, and transition for 10 different positions within the half guard scenario. It summarizes each position by linking the techniques based upon your opponent’s defensive reactions. I wish all instructionals followed this format. If you are having issues with your half guard as a position to escape, reverse, or control from. I highly recommend this instructional.

I've purchased instructionals from Garry Tonon, Craig Jones, Gordon Ryan, John Danaher, jiu jitsu x instructionals, and various other well-respected names. I can tell you with utmost honesty that this instructional might be the best instructional I've ever purchased. I genuinely believe from white straight to black belt you will be able to learn from this instructional. I didn't realize that I knew so little about half guard until I got 4 hours into this instructional. Watch this instructional, actually study it, and I guarantee that half guard will be one of your most confident positions.

Excellent instructional. This kept me from getting smashed in half guard and provided numerous sweeps from various set ups. The way the material is set up is very systematic as well. Also, he does not waste any time repeating himself. So its is about an hour and a half for each part of just solid instruction with a narrated roll or two thrown in. Incredibly solid work. The content and teaching methodology is the best I have found so far on BJJ fanatics.

Best Jiu Jitsu DVD that I own. Really changed my game and helped me go from white to blue. When I first watched it, I was floored that someone would sell so much information publicly. I was thinking "Why would anyone put so much for sale? Doesn't that hurt him as a coach to release so much intellectual property?" I expect to be referencing this again and again, until I'm at least a purple belt, perhaps even after.

Really enjoying half guard anthology (and half guard passing anthology) by Lachlan Giles. Lachlan has an amazing approach to teaching. He is a great communicator and forensically breaks down each individual movement and a multitude of expected reactions from the opponent. This makes this overall a very comprehensive instructional with lots of content to keep you busy for a very long time.
