Really helpful instructional. The instructors really know their stuff. Lots of knowledge in this instructional and they have really made it accessible to anyone to learn.
If you dont want to be passed ever again then this is your DVD. Some moves need flexibility or willingness to start to strech every day
Lachlan covers all bases in this retention instructional. I learned so much. He explains principals, movements, and specific instructions vs types of guard passes. This is the essential retention dvd

Really detailed instructional that really helped my guard retention. I find myself coming back to it a lot and gradually improving.
Really well structured and complete series
Lachlan and Ariel do a great job at explaning the details of guard retention. All the positions are detailled, and the most usefull way to study is to go back at it when we have a specific problem and look for the corresponding chapter.
Really useful concepts and techniques. The focus on retention really valuable as this is needed before you can consider offence

Top quality
Retaining your guard, from anywhere.
The different concepts related to the guard retention is clearly explained and showned. It will take me some Time to include them in my jiu-jitsu pratice. I really like all the tutorials that i purchased made by Lachlan Giles. Combined with his escapes and half guard tutorials, i think that i will have a strong foundation to improve my bjj.
This is one of the most unique instructionals in the sport of BJJ. I personally prefer teaching students guard retention without the use of any frames, but of course at one point you will need to improve the retention to an earlier more pro-active approach. This is were this course excels, it shows so many details on how to frame and proper postures to do so, While opening the fingers, to have a bigger surface to post, is more risky for injuring your fingers. It helps and it's a method I haven't seen elsewhere in 25+ years of BJJ. I would recommend less advanced people to start with the through the legs as they are more likely to end up there first, for the advanced student the around is probably the more interesting. Beginners should probably skip this course for now,
Lachlan is a master presentation in the masterfully organized course. Each lesson shows the moves before he goes into great detail explaining the concepts. My skills have greatly improved since watching this instructional
Everything you need to know about guard retention
He is good teacher
Love that they blend gi and nogi in the same instructional.
This instructional helped me feel comfortable being on the attack and not worry too much about having my guard passed while in open and seated guard. Preventing the bad situations and regaining good position has really helped my game. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure!
