This approach to top half passing is simple and effective, so much so that there are people in my gym that would now rather let me pass to side control than subject themselves to the pressure of a top half pass.
Another thorough, well thought out instructional from Danaher. Always felt weak in half guard but this material will certainly help. John has a way of simplifying the complex, even with all of the minute details that he covers.
Danaher covers what I think must be every possible situation in passing the half guard. He’s truly a master at this position.
John’s instructionals ALWAYS have pieces of knowledge and details that have been missing in my game. It never fails that even a small tweak makes a giant difference.
Great breakdown of what I always thought was complex moved into simple, easy to understand mechanics that are easily understood.
What can I say, just buy it
I use the tips for maintaining mount all the time.
watched about 2 mins and asked for ⁶rating
😎Awesome instructional
John Danaher brings detail and Mechanics together beautifully as always…… You find something new each time you watch.
John is the best. Half guard and PINS are essential. Thank you Coach
Great instructional
Mr. Danaher does a fantastic job of explaining the value of half-guard and breaking it down into a system of positions and priorities. Like all his other videos, you end up taking away a better understanding of jiu-jitsu as a whole, and not just the focal positions indicated in the title of the video.
Great content and instruction as usual. As always Danaher explains the fundamental concepts and principles in great detail. Awesome series.
Amazing content from Danaher, as usual. His breakdowns of pins and how/when to use them makes me look at the top position in a whole new way.
I’m a 41 year old brown belt. I love the detail of instruction. As an engineer I need to know the details and rationale behind the technique. And this video does just that!!! Worth every penny!!
Great info!
Amazingly detailed and thorough as is usual for Danaher.
This is a position I regularly get caught in and this instruction touches on all the nuance of how to be effective here. Another Danaher masterclass.
Always straight to the point with plenty of detail. Mr. Danaher at it again.
Detailed explanations on fundamental principles
Superb instructions from Mr. Danaher again. Such teacher is born probably only once per generation.
I am recovering from significant injuries incurred in an accident earlier this year, and I am fairly certain that a lot of the more athletic movements I used to do in order to pass the guard will no longer be as effective for me as they once were. I can already tell that forcing into a half guard position will be much more effective for me and allow me to continue to progress in the art that I love! I look forward to continuing to study these videos and improving myself a little more each day.
Very good and detailed material. John does a great job explaining the concepts behind the techniques.
