bernardo is the man, when i first started jiu jitsu his half gaurd game was one of the first this i was thaught by my coach. i highly recommend that if your brand new, an older grappler or you want to add a simple yet effective system into your game then this video set will be a treasure in your collection. do not hesitate to buy!!
A great well thought out system for older grappler!
Great instructional to slow down the game and be able to play while not exposing yourself
Bernardo Faria shows his half guard and closed guard packed with adaptations to slow the game down even more and increasing leverage and efficiency. He points out how and when to replace athleticism with proper positioning and persistent movement. Highly recommend!
I'm 200cm and 165kg, these techniques work great for me without me having to use my strength
this is the greatest instructional for older guys who plays deep half guard
Awesome material for older students
old guy appreciates this material
Bernardo keeps this tutorial simple and easy to follow. Perfect for older guys that play half guard. Lots of small details. Loved it
Very good
Helped give me new concepts for my game I enjoy berndos stuff
Lots of details and insights on the over/under passing game...slightly adjusted for the older player. Always easy to follow.
as an older big guy, I get caught or catch folks in half guard a lot, good stuff for me to review and improve on as I work through my BJJ journey, thank you Bernardo!
This isn’t an encyclopedia of half guard and closed guard but what Bernardo does share is amazing
The king of deep half shares his secrets with us here. I'm early 30s but it can be tough to keep up with very athletic guys sometimes and the content of this instructional has helped tremendously.
Faria is master of half guard. And this video is he’s contents Great contents
Early in my Jiu Jitsu my professor at the time said, "you should learn deep half" and urged me to get a Prof Faria video. Overnight I went from getting my butt kicked everday to at least holding my own. I've polished over the years, periodically revisting Prof Farias videos. It this series has the details to help me continue to progress. At 55 I don't want scramble. My greatest deficiency is coming up on top without that occurring. The details in this video look like the solution. Thank you Prof Faria!
The Jiu Jitsu for Old Guys Botom Game has been super helpful in keeping me on the mats with my younger teammates. At 54, I am sweeping guys from deep half, single leg, and dog fight half guard, and passing with over under. Everything about this DVD has been helpful. Pair this with Bernardo's Over Under DVD for old guys, and you won't be sorry...your teammates will. Thanks Bernardo! Always the best.
Worth the buy!
Very useful and easy to apply game for older persons or people less phisically skilled.
Bernardo makes bjj simple and efficient for everybody! He turns a chess game into a game of checkres! This is a very safe guard game and Bernardo gives all the details to make it easy for everyone
I've been looking for some strategies to better deal with some of the young guys that I train with, and this has definitely helped. I already caught a few of my training partners with some of the techniques shown and look forward to continue rewatching and perfecting the moves.
Bernardo Faria does an excellent job at presenting bottom game for old guys; Bernardo method of instruction is entertaining and educational. I found success with the techniques taught in the instructional videos, that I went on to purchase Bernardo Faria's Old Guys Over-Under passing. I look forward to more from Bernardo's Old Guy series of instructional videos. There is a charm to the deprecating but realistic title "old guys". I am sure we all love BJJ but it sucks getting old and out-of-shape, us "old-guys" need every advantage we can get. It was a huge honour for me to learn Bernardo Faria's techniques . Please keep making more in the "old-guys" series.
Professor Faria's instructional address the less than perfect scenarios. It is a great instructional with a lot of practical take home techniques. I preferred Michael's Unicorn and Rainbow crushing questions. A big benefit to that was to watch a 5 -time world champion problem solve. Does not take away from this video but it the passing video had some real-world icing on the cake. Plus, it was nice to see a highly skilled player not get it the techniques perfect right out of the gait!
