great
Another master piece by Mr. Danaher
Great stuff, game changing
Very thorough explanations by John Danaher. The segments are helpful for drilling and building towards the closed guard system. Most techniques are practical, some seem beyond my flexibility but he does a good job of mentioning modifications for different body types. I'm glad that I bought this video first because it is very often that I get caught in bottom guard. The side scissor is also practical in gi as well. The sleeve grip makes it much stronger to get outside the elbow and begin to take the back. I've bought two others since getting this one: butterfly guard and lapel chokes (by different instructors). I'm probably going next towards leg lock systems and defenses since I'm approaching blue belt and I don't want to have growing pains when leg locks are on the table.
John Danaher gives a closed guard map in this instructional. SO MANY GREAT DETAILS that will for sure accelerate your closed guard game
It helped me understand better closed vs open guard.
Goat
It is essential lecture for gi and ni gi player. Easy to understand and remember.
I thought I already know everything about the close guard. I mean, it is one of the first things you learn in BJJ. But this video really blew my mind. There are so many aspects of close guard that I didn't knew. I am still working on getting the knowledge of this video integrated into my daily sparring. Especially the concepts of creating angles and creating multiple dilemmas (having always a backup plan) really helped me. This is recommended for beginners as well as for advanced people that want to get new ideas on how to score from close guard.
This is the best no-gi closed guard instructional on BJJ Fanatics. Danaher's stuff in general is very high quality, and this is no exception. A common criticism of his videos is that he spends too much time on talking and theory and too little on actual technique instruction, but out of all his courses I've seen, this one probably has the most actual technique breakdown- most of the broad theoretical overviews are covered in the first chapter, and the rest is getting down to business. Highly recommend.
Great closed guard techniques for improving your Jiu Jitsu. Just watch it 2x speed. 1x speed is great if you want to fall asleep.
John Danaher is Great. Very detailed explanation of the Closed Guard , No-Gi . The Instructional Time: 8-10 Hours . Best Price . Useful for Bjj , Mma , Self Defence Training. I can highly recommend it!
John Danaher systematically breaks down every piece of the closed-guard game here. I am always excited to purchase a new Danaher instructional. This content always improves my game and gives me a more insightful look at jiu jitsu as a whole. Thanks John!
Top notch hits pretty much every angle of closed guard attacking. Enough material here to continue to transform my game for years to come.
Love it it's great 👍
Great stuff
Great instructional on closed guard and various attacks
Closed guard has quickly become one of my favorite positions -- the ease in taking the back from the side scissor is incredible.
These videos were very easy to follow and the techniques have been effective.
Great options from closed guard. I’ve always had an issue with open guard because I train with opponents who outweigh me by 100 lbs and tournaments would be difficult without this video. I’ve used these techniques to turn closed guard into one of my best positions
As always John Danaher nails it !
Probably the only closed guard instructional you'll ever need. Obviously, if you're gi-only, you'll want to adapt this information to that context. This is classic Danaher. He gives you techniques not in isolation, but with a system in mind. Just simply fantastic.
I absolutely love the video it goes into detail about positions and guard and who is a bigger player then John
Coach shows us moves from this.
John does it again with another great instructional! John shows his system to help you go on the attack with your no-gi closed guard! As you can expect with John’s teaching, it’s all amazing!
