This instructional is great. The concepts and principles, basics and fundamentals of no gi passing are priceless. I can already see the improvements in my guard passing game.
Great instructional and very detailed. I can't recommend this enough!
Full of lots of little details that make the difference between a pass that works and one that doesn't. And gives an effective overall system for passing
Amazing!
John is well known for his articulation of jiu jitsu movements. This instructional has a lot to offer! Enjoy!
As always anything by Danaher is exceptional, in depth and very useful. Lots of great information and I learned a lot.
Legend
This has been awesome for a new white belt to figure out what battles to focus on. Danaher identifies the key battles being fought in different positions so you can focus on the battles worth winning instead of vaguely worrying about an infinite number of threats.
A great series on nogi guard passing. The concepts presented are invaluable. Would recommend.
I love his style of teaching. He breaks entire sequences down, making the position easily understandable and thus your decision making is made easier. I'm only a section into this instructional and it's well worth the money. He teaching style allows for a different look at jiu jitsu.
Another great John Danaher instructional always gives a solid understanding of what you are trying to achieve and why
Passing the legs in no gi is easy enough, but I always struggled with maintaining control that leads to pins. I really like the leg pummeling system that's implemented here.
Crisp Detail. Extremely informative. I’ve used much of what I’ve learned with this info from Danaher. Absolutely amazing!
Learning from Professor John is an amazing experience that has shifted my guard passing skills to a whole new level.
Highly Recommend! You will not regret getting this one!
I saw immediate improvements in my no gi passing after watching this dvd. The toreando section is ESPECIALLY GOOD.
Excellent instructional on passing guard.
This is a very informative detailed take on guard passing. It has an overview of everything but it is only the information that is needed. I cannot think of someone better to learn guard passing from. It has changed my game.
Amazing guard passing instructional! A variety of different passing method to combine and become a well rounded guard passer. Each section provides Very detailed and easy to understand techniques and concepts. Danaher is able to simplify the most advanced concepts and give you easy to use understand techniques to further improve your passing game.
Danaher is a bit long winded but covers all the details you need to pass the gaurd. The section on Passing around the outside was especially useful for me as I almost always knee cut, body lock or smash pass.
At the time that I'm writing this review, I've been training no-gi for about a year and a half. Before buying this instructional, I had watched plenty of clips from his other videos on YouTube. However, I was hesitant to purchase one of his instructionals because the amount of information in them looked intimidating, and I was a little concerned his teaching style would be a bit too dry and academic for my taste. This particular video caught my eye because I had become frustrated trying to combine various guard passes I saw on YouTube with my favorites from the ones I learned in class. I wanted more of a systematic approach and framework I could follow. I was pleasantly surprised to find that John's teaching style is more dynamic and engaging than I had expected. It's fun to see the bond he's developed with Placido, and their interactions definitely provide some comedic relief. Even though John is extremely thorough with the amount of detail he provides, I don't feel like any of it is unnecessary. Every section feels like a complete class with all of the subsections organized in a logical progression. There are also several principles which he consistently repeats throughout the entire instructional. As a white belt, the Opening A Closed Guard section has been tremendously helpful for me. I'm also slowly but surely working on bodylock passes. I have no doubt this is a resource I will keep coming back to again and again.
Fundamentals with a different look. Great stuff.
Useful adjustments learned to sense and maintain control with no gi.
John really does a great general overview on no-gi gaurd passing; the torreando and bodylock sections specifically have helped me improve my game in a short period of time!
Like always Professor Danaher out does himself! This instructional can help everyone from beginners to advanced and is highly recommended! It's a Masterpiece!
