Become the Houdini of escapes
This is the very type of instruction that I thrive on. Principles of the art that explain the "why". I believe if you know the "why", you will always be able to figure out the solution to the problem. Danaher does an excellent job. I plan on purchasing all of the go further faster serious. Great job bjjfanatics.com on your collections of instructor videos.
These techniques and lessons are helping me survive longer in open mat. It has made rolling a lot more fun and gives me more to focus on than the shear panic of a giant black belt laying on top of me.
I love these videos! I watch em a lot when I can’t make it to academy. I plan to buy more when they go on sale. They are very helpful!
Coming back to Martial Arts after decades of absence, this video is the shortcut to success I was looking for. John Danaher applies the analytical skills he learned studying philosophy to reduce the sport to its fundamentals. You can't go wrong with this one.
My defense and positional awareness has improved tremendously. I noticed with my sparring partners, and the effort that they must put out in order to subdue me. John highlights danger areas, and good practice, which in turn I believe has helped me prevent possible injuries.
Excellent. Lots of content.
I bought this and literally the next day after watching I was able to get out of side control via the taught knee escape. I hit the move on a blue belt and my instructor. I really like Danaher's attention to detail.
Presented in an organized way to make it easy to follow.
Prinzipiell perfekt! Ready to attack our purple belts haha
Mr. Danaher you are the best.)
Everything from the required functional movements through to the various escapes, is gold. Like John says, "if this decrepit old body can do it, so can you." His stuff just works....
Details on the fundamentals you need to escape from almost all the basic positions you'll find yourself. With These fundamental escapes in place, you can confidently build your game going forward.
I am a 49 year old, smaller than average blue belt who has been studying jiu-jitsu for many years. I have very good submission defense, but have struggled with positional escapes against other blue belts and usually end up stuck on bottom most of the time I am rolling. It has always been a point of great frustration for me, despite studying MANY different resources on the subject. I hesitated to spend the money on Professor Danaher's Escapes material, worried that it would be more of the same information I had already seen, without any improvement in my escape ability. I was dead wrong! After purchasing the digital version, I skimmed through the material to get an idea of what kind of content was included, then sat down and watched the first volume (2 hours in length) covering only some basic concepts of pinning and escaping and some basic body movements for escaping, including sections on bridging and shrimping. The details Professor Danaher covers on these two movements alone, immediately showed me why many of my escapes were not working against larger and/or skilled opponents. These were details I have never seen covered in this manner and in this amount of depth. They were details that my instructors should have taught me, but never did. Professor Danaher has changed my escape game forever, after just watching the volume on concepts and body movements! I can't imagine what the other 7 volumes will do for me!! I will most definitely be buying more from Profesor Danaher in the future! If you are trying to decide whether or not to buy this instructional... don't wait... buy it! You will not be disappointed.
As someone brand new to Jiu Jitsu I found the videos very instructional. Danaher has a very good way of explaining concepts well along with showing the visuals. I would highly recommend to anyone, especially us white belts!
The way Danaher breaks things down has advanced my game more than a lot of live classes. Something just clicks when you try his methods,
very detailed, not finished yet, but so far it was worth it, i am a new blue belt, after watching the full mount escapes and the side mount escapes, i used them in class, had good success rate. also just in general helped me think different about escapes.
As always, John Danaher goes over every detail, but what’s great is how he gives a great big-picture understanding of the principles involved, not just a mishmash of techniques.
Great video, clear instructions and great concepts that are helping me improve my game immensely.
Exactly what I need to be able to continue in my bjj learning. Extremely detailed and very step oriented. I am a visual learner that takes repeated times to be able to learn something. I hope Professor Danaher continues with this exact type of video instruction for many additional series. Thanks
Solid concepts explained thoroughly by the mad scientist John Danaher. The amount of detail makes it well worth the buy. I am so much more comfortable with being on bottom now, definitely recommend for beginners to build a solid defense foundation.
loads of great knowledge
John DANAHER is a scientist!
Great advice in this video content!
Hello, I'm Ronald Stoddard and I want you all to know that this instructional video details THE MOST IMPORTANT skills required for someone starting out in jujitsu. Many people quit jujitsu because they get frustrated with their inability to escape being pinned to the ground. This video shows the fundamental skills to make you UNPINNABLE! Its truly gold friends and worth every penny!
