• Best produced instructional I've seen

  The content and structure of this instructional, is just on another level. Lachlan and Ariel go into such detail on every aspect of retention. There is rolling footage spliced into the sections after explanations to see it live as well which is extremely helpful. Also the details contents page makes it so easy to use and trouble shoot things when you have an issue. I watched the first volume (just about general concepts) and went training that night and my guard retention was already greatly improved. Ive been training 5+ years and thought my guard retention was already quite good. I cant recommend this dvd enough, and cannot wait for their next through the legs instructional to come out. Also having two people teach it really added value, as when one was talking the other was giving the exact reaction needed so it was very clear. It wasnt like other instructionals where the uke is just off day dreaming taking wrong grips etc. Couldnt recommend enough.

  I love all things related to guard retention. This is by far the most comprehensive collection of concepts on this material. I learned so much just off the first 45 minutes of just the first volume.

• Fantastic instructional!!!

  Recently purchased this product and am not disappointed, it doesn’t just show an array of techniques and counters to various guard passes etc, it details the concepts and principles of retaining guard, which for me, as a newly promoted blue belt had been a real eye opener! Great product for a great price! People of all belt levels would definitely gain from this!

• Amazing, Comprehensive, Go-to instructional

  If there's one guard retention instructional where you never have to buy another, this is it. I thoroughly enjoy the comprehensive approach of all of Lachlan's instructionals (with Ariel this time), where a top down overview/conceptual is first given, then detailed breakdowns are given, and lastly a recap to refresh the information overload. I think all of Lachlan's instructionals are for deep thinkers of BJJ where the practitioner really wants to know the why's of all the moves. It's presented in a systematic way to tie everything together. Osssss, thank you for putting this out.
