I love all your instructional. so much depths.
awesome content
A bit slow in the delivery, but great approach to teaching. I'm a closed guard player, and this has given me some excellent insights into improving my game.
I always find John's instructionals highly useful in expanding my knowledge and allowing me to learn more and progress faster as a result. My closed guard has improved 10 fold since i began this instructional/
Danaher shows all the overarching concepts of closed guard from controlling posture, getting angle and how to attack either from submissions, sweeps, or advantageous positions. The best thing is that he breaks it down by how your opponent is posturing in your guard: two knees, one knee, standing bent over and standing straight up. From there Danaher discusses all of the micro-adjustments in the closed guard with top-lock, side scissor, and my favorite the clamp. I urge everyone to buy John's instructionals so that your knowledge base is more extensive than your opponents.
Excellent break down. Love his explanations and concepts of attacking from the closed guard
I have bought several of Danahers instructionals and have always put this one off because I thought it would be to basic. It has turned out to be my favorite one of his. So many hidden gems and small details that will drastically improve your closed guard. Highly recommend!
Truly helped me gain an understanding of how to win from closed guard
As a fairly new white belt I appreciated the thoroughness of his explanations
Excellent video!
Wish I had this instructional as a white belt, highly recommended also to the coloured belts. Danaher teaching stye is one of a kind. It is not entertaining, but his understanding of the body dynamics and details he point out are astonishing and keep you engaged.
Changed my closed guard from defensive to offensive with multiple attacks. Great material.
Very helpful. I implement many of these techniques regularly.
Thorough and very well wxplained
As always, the master delivers and articulates movements like no other. John Danaher's real gift is his eye for detail and his ability to make the complex relatable. Above all, you learn the "why" to a technique, allowing you to defend it or transfer it to another situation. Excellent!
As a former wrestler, my closed guard was my weakness. After having bought this video stream, my closed guard has caught up to my top game. Of course, you have to practice Danaher's principles, but he makes it easy to understand and remember.
I couldn't believe how quickly my butterfly sweeps improved just by watching this DVD.
It's easy to get caught up in all the newest and fanciest techniques, but it's very nice to see an instructional by one of the best minds in Jiu Jitsu about a classic BJJ position.
John Danaher bright as always.
Amazing! Best Closedguard instructional ever! Improved a lot:tada:
As a brown belt this makes me feel like a white belt, it's truly amazing to me. How does he know so much haha
Incredible teaching methodology that clicks. By starting with an overview and principles and then diving into great details John once again delivers great content that is worth the time and money.
Very systematic and analytical. Highly recommend.
John Danaher - nuff said!
Of the many Danaher videos I have, this one is probably my favorite. I particularly like the 3rd and 5th volumes which have a lot of very nice sequences, and they are briefly reviewed at the end of each of those volumes making them easy to drill a whole related array of attacks from a given position He gives a good series of moves from a position and then later ties in other moves you can go for if they react differently . There are a few moves I'm surprised weren't in here (i.e. half nelson back take and rolling bow and arrow in disc 3), but given the list of options he gave already, I can't really consider that much of a fault. I sure he knows 100 moves he could have put in here. The one thing that did confuse me was why the top lock only showed the armbar. I would think transitions to omoplata, kimura, triangle, etc would all be there.
