huh
side scissors is a technique that can be learned with the clamp guard.
Very detail. Much important. Good teaching skills
excellent video
I love his professorial style.
Amazing details Danaher is in a league of his own. He is the Einstein of Jiu Jitsu!
This helped me accelerate my closed guard game immensely.
As anyone who has watched Danaher instructional videos knows, the amount of valuable information is almost overwhelming. This video, as you expect from BJJ Fanatics, is well produced with both clear video and audio. The content is excellent and extensive. Mr. Danaher demonstrates numerous techniques that will improve your closed guard game. Depending on your degree of concentration, you may find that Mr. Danaher speaks more than necessary.
This DVD is game changer for me as an white belt. All it took is 1 hours of explanation of John legend himself.
As usual, John explains in great detail the concepts and techniques behind the closed guard. His DVDs are so packed that it takes months (even years) to fully absorb them. After watching this DVD and applying some of the concepts in my training, the closed guard has become one of my favourite positions. Techniques such as the side scissor or the top lock are incredible techniques that everyone should have in their arsenal. This DVD has improved my closed guard for sure. Highly recommended!
I can't tell you how much my closed guard improved because of this video. It was so comprehensive and well taught. I can't wait to get more John Danaher instructional videos!
What to say...it is a must have. A reference work. To say the truth everything that M. Danaher does is at a benchmark level. The way it explain, the way it repeating many time, the way he adds insight into something that was already explained by some of the greatest is worth of admiration. Reference work.
effectively communicates the details of this guard to the point where I I now understand it deeply
great
Great series. I'll especially like the side scissor position and the various tactics to get opponents' hands across the centreline
I wish I had this instructional when I started BJJ. John Danaher explains in a very articulate way the main concepts of closed guard. He breaks down advantageous positions from which sweeps and submission are accessible. Highly recommended!
This series has been very useful to understand what one is supposed to look for and do when in the guard, instead of haphazardly trying to attack from a neutral position. The content is well organised, making it easy to come back to the sections at a later time.
This series is incredibly helpful to understand what you are supposed to do and look for in the guard, instead of haphazardly trying moves from a neutral position. The contents are well organised, making it easy to come back to a specific session. (Very) highly recommended.
Professor John Danaher offers a clear path of how to act from closed guard in terms of breaking posture and lock down a high guard to progress from there via transition into side scissor or top lock or clamb position. You also get great attacks based on whether your opponent is on his knees or on one knee about to stand up or on both feet lean over you or with upright posture. His principles of vulnerability are super versatile and can be used in every possible combination depending on the scenario. He points out so well the importance of head and hip height and how with awareness ifcthat situations can be changed to your favor by beeing higjher than your opponent. Highly recommend!!
I really appreciate his ability to break down complex ideas to beginners like myself.
So much great content in this instructional. Very good for beginners, I do like how Danaher speaks about some important concepts to think about before; however he is very repetitive through entire series. Would recommend setting some time aside each day before class.
No one does it better than John Danaher. His detail and strategies are off the scale. There’s a reason people say he’s the best in the world.
So many details I have been missing for years. Danaher is the man!
This is helped my game tremendously! I feel way more comfortable in closed guard and setting up sweeps. I want to be a monster off my back and this was a fantastic video that help me learn the high percentage techniques and the concepts to execute the moves.
This instructional is a MUST for anyone looking to improve their closed guard. The concepts in this have massively improved my skills already but I've not even covered all of the content yet. If you are looking for an in depth coverage of the closed guard principles then this is required watching!
