I have all of the Danaher systems.. the retail and content is unreal. Get them all.
The Level of "Detail" , "Structure" & "Focus" is exceptional . I like his delivery and the time he takes to layout his thoughts and theory .
The way John explains technical bjj is easy to understand.
I love BJJ Fanatics. BJJ Fanatics is a valuable resource.
I only rated 3 of 5 because ,,, I wish I’d gotten more computer animation instructional content , I thought that made this product better and Unit . But over all I enjoyed as all the other videos , Thank you and keep the wonderful work,
As a man who is aged 54 and started Jiujitsu just several years ago and always busy to support my family, I felt my Jiujitsu never improving because of my age and lack of time. But with Danaher's Guard Retention and Pin Escaping videos, I finally feel I can achieve something in Jiujitsu. After watching them and trying to utilize what he taught in them, I see my movements against my opponents got much more effective and sensible. Within just short period, my Jiujitsu so much improved. I heartily recommend Danaher's videos. He is a real guru in this sport.
Excellent
My Heart is pounding each time I watch these videos , it is truly empowering to be learning such valuable content taught in that manner . I feel that I am relearning jiu-jitsu .thank you again for putting this together !
Clear, easy to understand explanation of guard retention skills. Highly recommended.
Amazing instruction!
learning to teach to my students the basics of guard retention, great work keep doing basics videos
This video is extremely useful. John Danaher has the ability to help you out put together the pieces of the puzzle. Guard retention is complex but so important. During my first year of training I focused too much on my top game until I came to realize I had no guard. The guard is what makes you a decent Jiu jitsu player. Once you develop a decent guard BJJ becomes way more fun. For the last year I have spent a lot of time playing guard and getting smashed. My guard has developed some but I wish this DVD had come out a year earlier. It would have helped me a lot. As an older grappler (41 years old) who started BJJ late in life I don't have time to go through trial and error. I recommend this DVD to all of those who are new to the gentle art and want to develop a better understanding of what playing guard is about. Oooosss!
Fantastic
I have watched almost all of John Danaher's Systems. Everything he creates is absolute gold. Even techniques I knew gave me details I didn't have before.
The thing that makes these videos great is how John Danaher slowly and methodically explains exactly why we use certain techniques and how those broad concepts fit into those techniques. You come out of these videos not only having new techniques, but understanding how to improvise.
I bought the first instructional in Danaher’s fundamentals series and was so impressed I knew I had to buy this one too. Just like the escapes instructional, a theory is explained in great detail about guard retention. This gives you the opportunity to apply guard retention strategies with increased freedom as long as you are applying the core concepts Danaher covers. I’m only through the first three chapters and already feel my guard retention is better just by understanding the basic positions, concepts and movements that dictate guard retention.
Danaher is such a great teacher that it's a joy to watch and really made me understand BJJ much better. It really makes a difference
Interesting approach to guard retention. Starts with general theory - fundamental movements, framing etc. then goes on to looking at how to defend specific passes. Excellent level of detail and thorough explanations of why you're doing what you're doing.
As his his custom, John Danaher has created yet another fantastic DVD. The attention to details and the clear explanation set him apart. Highly recommended!
This is the best Guard retention material you can learn, Buy this right now!
John I purchased Your guard retention system for two reasons 1- I was fortunate enough to develop most of my fundamentals in Your class as a white belt and blue belt so many of these are inherent in me and are automatic. I do them unconsciously, However I want to really fully understand them and revisit them as a white belt myself so that I can get better at using them under great pressure. 2- as an instructor now and a black belt I want to be able to communicate effectively to my students how these things work especially with beginners to help them develop a strong fundamental base because I believe that more than anything that is the secret to a long successful career in Jiu jitsu. And quite frankly using these fundamental techniques is the best chance of someone not being hurt because they are improperly of defending the guard using force, strength and improper technique. Thanks John I would never have been able to really recall all of this and be able to communicate it without having you create this program truly a blessing and worth every penny.
