This has definitely helped me retain my guard including helping me discover new ways to lock up a closed guard in transition.
Some of the best technique and overall concept based teaching of guard retention I have seen yet.
Danaher’a video instruction is simply the best. The moves are explained in great detail and he provides the context needed to understand and use the concepts he teaches. At some point, I’ll own the full collection of “go further, faster.”
A great video can wait to implement this
Good
Amazing! Improved my game a lot.
Amazing detail
Comprehensive and well thought out. This idea dense presentation provides plenty of food for thought, and much to work on. Happy training!
Best video I have purchased yet Everything is explained in great detail and has helped considerabley Identify the pass that’s being used and first steps to take and several options for guard retention for all the most common passes 👍👍 You won’t be disappointed John Danaher is genius
Amazing content! A lot of stuff covered in here I wish I knew as a beginner to help me develop a strong guard. As usual, he never disappoints.
Thank you it has good instructions and drills I really appreciated
I shouldn’t have waited so long. I was worried this would be “cook book Jiu Jitsu”. Boy was I wrong. Instead of putting forth a “this move = that move” video, John presents concepts which will prevent the passage of your guard and put you on the offense. He uses physical index points on your body to guide your guard defense techniques with options to quickly negate the pass and begin a sting offense. You will feel like he is speaking directly to you. All manner of passes, grips (!) and escapes to an offensive guard are taught. are taught. His relaxing, conversational tone compliments this most complete video. You will not fear going to guard anymore. Get it now.
I really appreciate how this series breaks down the methodology
Great content and ideas for veteran judoka.
These concepts will not go out of style! I really liked how the DVD is laid out. Very easy to follow. This DVD has helped my retention tremendously. It is a lot of content; so really, take your time, take it a piece at a time! This is one of the DVDs I always keep coming back to!
Excellent content
Even though I'm a brown belt I knew my ability to retain guard needed to improve. I'm not through with the video, yet, but so far I understand the basic concepts and movements. The breakdown and explanations for retaining guard are wonderful, and match my learning style!
Its really good
Amazing, easy to follow and really helped my guard game!
Very well explained. Retaining guard is not an easy thing to do, but Danaher's explanation makes it so easy to absorb and replicate in real life sparring.
Mr. John Danaher goes into exceptional detail on how to massively improve guard retention. Being a new white belt, this has dramatically improved my guard abilities and allowed me to study and get reps in at home during this coronavirus epidemic. Thank you!
I utilize these skills every time I roll. The techniques are very simple and easy to remember. Chip away a little at a time :call_me_hand:I'm grateful.
I started studying this right before my gym closed due to COVID-19. I noticed immediate progress. Since then, I paired this with his solo drills program to keep the mind sharp to dominate once back on the mats. Until then...doing solo drills on my rug.
This is now my 6th John D Title. A1!, Highly Recommended for the Caronavirus Outbreak to still get some good training in ....
For a white belt looking to cover fundamentals John Danaher can't explain everything as you may run into it. A must have!
