Awesome set... just... WOW!!! Very well put together, obviously JD has many, many years of experience of teaching and efficiency. I recommend ALL of his instructional DVD’s from BJ Fanatics. This guard passing set is awesome! So much to take in, ponder, and incorporate! He manufactures champions... this man is jiu jitsu. Get it.
I am a black belt in two standup arts, and have 40 years of training off and on. I love the arts. The last six years I've been training online and through my studio (which I just had to close due to covid) in jujitsu, from many different sites. Several years ago, after being locked in closed guard by younger practitioners, I studied the many sites on how to break out. But the first 20 minutes of this series gave me a new perspective, although I've seen on other sites, as to the importance that John Danaher places on his way, and how his way comes from what the top practitioners are using in competition. I have not completed the first volume, but because of this information, I've purchased all of Danaher I could afford. I believe the perspective is invaluable, and I will improve in dismantling much younger and stronger "friends." Bring it!
This professor is so technical and precise that I always learn enough to defeat my opponents. I would gladly pay the full price for his videos!
Always concise and loaded with info explained in detail.
Another mind expending product , every time I get an instructional from Mr Danaher , it feels like Neo, when he took the “red pill” from Morpheus and now I can see , what’s been there all alone. Thank you so much to everybody involved in creating such wonderful a caring work
I bought all of Danaher's BJJ videos. The first one, I bought about ten months ago, then I bought other ones about one per each month. Whenever I bought and watched each of his video, I found my BJJ improving rapidly to the level I couldn't imagine before. Finally, with this one, I feel that my BJJ knowledge finally reached a full circle. Before starting to watch his videos, my knowledge on BJJ was in a bits-and-pieces mode. As a purple belt, I know some on pinning, guarding, passing, finishing, etc, but even when I know something on them, I didn't have a full picture on the mechanism of BJJ. Then, while I was watching Danaher's videos on these aspects, that big picture started to form in my mind. Finally, with this video on guard passing, I finally feel I know why I should move this or that way. Now, even when I lose, I understand why I could not but lose. Danaher put me on a solid rock regarding BJJ. I am so happy to get to know with his videos. His videos are solid, thorough, and methodical, and extremely easy to understand. I recommend his videos with all my heart. Buy them, and they will change your BJJ beyond your imagination.
So glad I purchased this. So much to learn. Danaher DVDs are always quality. All you need.
Instantly felt my passing game improve
Highly recommended
John Danaher is a master teacher and this instructional is well worth the investment to improve your knowledge from a conceptual point of view that is not always taught well by other instructors.
I’m really enjoying the detailed descriptions of each pass, but most of all, understanding the concepts behind the passing has been most helpful in progressing my passing game! Thank you for all the great content!
Absolutely incredible, outstanding, excellent. 100% you will improve by investing time into this DVD. Like all of John's DVDS this is extremely thorough and detailed. Like all of John's DVDS, it is rich with insight but at the same time so incredibly painful to watch - painful because, if you're like me, you start to see how little you actually understand about the topic. This DVD is no different. Absolutely brilliant. Dynamite. You won't be disappointed. His best yet.
I am a white belt for a long time just focusing on technique after technique but never saw the whole puzzle, especially with guard passing. John's explanation and concept based approach is brilliant and very very clear, he makes you really understand Bjj. After watching the program my thinking of guard passing will always be different and learning other guard passes will be so much easier with all the concepts in the back of my mind. I cannot wait to go for guard passes after the corona virus lock down is over. For now, unfortunately i have only one more hour left of watching my new man crush mister John Danaher himself teaching pure gold! Next one will be escapes or guard retention to get my fundamentals on point!
John Danaher has clearly established himself as the #1 grappling authority in the world. He is potentially the most important grappling philosopher of all time. Not only are his communications the most clear and detailed out there, he covers the whole range of issues underlying the grappling arts, from first principles, philosophical underpinnings, core concepts from all positions and situations, insights, tactics, mechanics, problems vs dilemmas, mental approach, analytical frameworks for decision making, relevant analogs, etc. No other grappling expert covers John's range. John is an expert in all grappling arts and focuses on the most effective set of techniques. He spends a considerable amount of time on these techniques and watching his videos are comparable to a Masters or PhD course on the relevant grappling topic. After absorbing one of John's series, one has effectively completed a course on the relevant subject and attained its essential body of knowledge from its best teacher. Even if one doe not aspire to be a proficient grappler, John's videos are the best resource for grappling analysts, enthusiasts, and parents who would like to help their children in their grappling development. HIs success as a coach, as evidenced by the results Gordon Ryan has attained in a relatively short period of time, as well as his contributions and innovations in the leg lock game are further testament to John's value. I have purchased his guard passing, back system, front headlock, and leg lock series. I would eventually like to see John create a series on grappling in the self defense context.
After years of frustration in my learning of Jiujitsu in a disorderly manner, I could finally feel secure after purchasing and watching Danaher's instructional DVD's, especially his fundamental series. Because I got and viewed his DVD's on pins and escapes, guard retention, closed guard, half guard, open guard, I so earnestly waited for this DVD on Guard Passing. With this newcomer, I now feel like I have a full circle of knowledge from survival to attack. Already while watching through his previous videos, I have noticed that now I am more and more understanding the mechanisms of BJJ and becoming more rational with my moves. I am sure I will be more strategic, when I attempt to pass my opponents's guards. I give my great appreciations for this DVD to John Danaher. You're the greatest teacher any BJJ practitioners can ever imagine.
