Great instructional on passing the guard. Goes very in depth on techniques and always goes into theory of why we do what we do.
Danaher is a great teacher, but likes to explain everything in extreme detail. While this means sometimes the amount of information can e a little overwhelming, ultimately this is a good thing as you come away with a deeper understanding of the subject than you would if you were just copying someone else's drills. If you find his presentation style a bit much, stick with it! Because at the end of the day his body of work is pretty much the most complete understanding of jiu-jitsu and ground based fighting we have right now.
The guard passing instructional by John Danaher is absolutely phenomenal! John teaches you the core principals of passing your opponents guard, so you don't just learn the moves, but you recognize certain patterns and milestones that you have to reach in order to pass your opponent's guard. Phenomenal!
Great instructional. As expected from this analytic mind of Danaher. Instructions are clear and well structured and the focus lies on an approach relying on the most effective techniques based on a solid concept of guard passing. The only missing thing would be a mind map. That would be the awesome top pinnacle. Even though the DVD is awesome in itself already.
An encyclopedia of guard passing. Excellent!
Can’t wait to implement this on the mat.
Not even the smallest detail goes unnoticed. John gives greater detail into any and every aspect. I feel more confident in my ability having just listened
John danaher leaves no detail out, his knowledge is second to none, and I feel more confident in my passing ability having listened
Danaher lays out a lot of material in an easy to digest, hierarchical game plan to improve your BJJ. Even if your passing is solid this video will help to refine it.
Excellent guard passing info. If you are a white/blue belt looking for the fundamentals and an entire system to implement into your game, this is definitely it.
Excellent
The way John explains the technical concepts is remarkable. I go back to review my foundation and apply the details taught by John. Really improve my game now !!! Thanks and so happy with my investment. Danaher is always be my favorite teacher.
Great information. Become Passing wizard!
Invaluable and informative
Changed my game totally! Knowledge behind the basics!
This is a very complete and good passing instructionnal. It mostly covers all thhe more classic guards, but in a extremely detailed way. It is a must for sure, worth every dime, especially if you are beginner or intermediate, because of all the fundamentals covered
I love this video, help me a lot!
I trained Gracie Jiu-Jitsu for close to 30 years got my purple belt from Rorion, Royce, Helio Gracie. Caique was also a instructor there at that time. I was fortunate enough to be a member of the last instructor training program lead by Helio Gracie. The rest of my Jiu-Jitsu career I have been a autodidact.
I have a much better understanding of guard passing from studying these videos and keep learning more each time I watch them. Excellent instruction.
The section on how to pass and break connections of different types of guard is worth the price of admission alone.
Great videos with the key points I have been missing with many of my passes. I love that he has a system based on the high percentage passes actually used successfully in sport. Also, the way he teaches these core techniques but then reviews examples of how to switch and alternate between them makes for a better game. I'd recommend them, except then you'd be harder for me to keep in my guard.
Amazing job at categorizing and having a hierarchy system of what works best. And most importantly proving it in the real world.
Great content, Danaher is an awesome teacher.Love Bjjfanatics
good
I just got back into BJJ after a 2 year layoff. This was one of my first instructional purchased along with Prof Danaher’s guard retention instructional during the lockdown. The break down of everything really helped me to drill at home so when I finally got back to the mats I had the muscle memory of my basics. Great for all levels for sure!!
