One of the best instructional videos so far. J.D. explains it in a way that it makes sense for everyone to understand. I wish I can move to Puerto Rico and take lessons from him directly, but his videos will have to do for now.

Great instructional. Danaher really has a great way with helping you understand the position, as well as what you should be looking for. The first few parts aren’t technique heavy but just from that I look at open guard differently. This is the 3rd in the series I have (all dealing with guard) and now I’m looking to complete the set. John is a great teacher.

Great to have a “top down” approach the gives you the landscape of the subject to understand how all the techniques and details work toward overarching principles. I struggle to “see the forest through trees” with BJJ and this helps immensely. I’m starting to see the general principles Prof. Danaher covers in so many things now and helps me pick them up much easier.

Alot of really great content I learned alot of technique and details to add to my game. Alot of people teach techniques with out knowing all the reasons your doing certain movements. These videos really helped explain the concepts.

I have bought multiple videos from BJJ Fanatics and other sources. So do trust me on my review ! The Open Guard Series from Prof John is as detailed and informative as his others. I have yet to complete this video but thus far i already have learnt 2 x guard system in 1 series. Cant wait to try when the lockdown ends.
