• If you are a triangle specialist you need this

  This guy teaches stuff your daddy never showed you about triangles. It's rare that you even find someone who is aware that reverse triangles exist. Estima is one of the world's leading experts on how to do these triangles at the highest level. Some of his ideas seem so easy when you watch the videos but I have found them hard to pull off, like what he calls the "gubber guard" triangles. The biggest insight that probably helped me the most was the relationship between reverse triangles and kimuras. Like I said, if you are a triangle specialist you have to study Braulio Estima if you have any self-respect. He's one of the leading lights.

• High level concepts

  I've rewatched this a few times. You do get used to Braulio's English over time. He has extremely high level concepts and a unique approach, and some really dazzling setups. I actually really like this instructional.

• please don't speak fast

  Braulio Estima is a hero to me. I love his inverted triangle. I love his pretzel pass. He is a great teacher. But it almost seems like he is afraid to be himself in this video, sometimes it seems like he is speaking fast to get past the fact that he has an accent. It really backfires because it becomes hard to understand him. I still got some good ideas the first time I watched his instructional, like the head of the snake. He didn't give up all his secrets here, he gave a few of them. There are some of his setups I've seen on youtube that are not here. This man could sell a LOT of instructionals, he has an awesome unique game. The pretzel pass is perfect for me when I do the stack pass against someone really flexible. Telles has an accent too but his videos are very friendly and conversational and engaging. Anyway this instructional is good but I wish Estima wouldn't speak so fast. Doesn't matter if you have an accent, doesn't matter if your gi is perfect. We want to understand you and we want all your ideas that will help us please.

• A Multiple-Time World Champion Teaches His A-Game

  Braulio Estima is probably the most successful triangle choke practitioner of all time. He is a former ADCC world champion and 3x IBJJF world champion. According to BJJ Heroes, triangle chokes are his most common submission. I like to learn from multiple-time world champions who teach their A-game. In this instructional, he shows lots of triangle choke techniques I've never seen before. He also explains the interrelationship between triangle chokes, arm bars, and kimuras. Even though he teaches lots of different triangle choke techniques, he emphasizes the importance of understanding the concepts that underlie those techniques. This instructional also introduces students to his "Head of the Snake Concept," which is about grabbing the end of an opponent's limb in order to gain maximum leverage over that limb. To gain maximum control over an opponent's arm, for example, he grabs the hand, rather than the wrist or forearm. Audio and video quality are mediocre. Something often makes a noise when he moves. I'm not sure what it is, but I suspect it may be the hard mats that he's on. The camera also temporarily loses focus a few times during the instructional. The lighting is excellent and you can always clearly hear his voice. Overall, I'm glad I made this purchase. There are few people in the world better to learn triangle chokes from than Braulio Estima. The total running time is 2 hours, 20 minutes, and 40 seconds.

• Amazing conceptual approach on triangles

  B. E. points out the conceptual and technical key details really well. First concept is to stop and avoid your opponents movements and provide pins where you can move around efficient. Next concept is if you have to control the upper limb. Next concept is pinning - replacement - transitioning. The next important concept is focusing on submitting and is named pinch (control) and lock. And kind of control the position/pressure around the centerlines. He points out the correlation between triangle and armlocks. The techniques include triangle, reverse triangle, inverted triangle from side control top and bottom, knee on belly, closed guard, DLR guard, spider, lasso and sit up guard and combined with sweeps. Highly recommend!!
