great instructional and fresh approach.
Ariel has ALL the details
Great instruction
Extremely comprehensive but clear and easy to follow approach to the modern DLR game with waiter and RDLR included. Pairs well with Ari's other Open Guard Compendium instructionals. Highly recommend.
this man should be working at NASA
Don't get it, I'd rather you have a passable guard
I cannot ask for more: high-quality teaching with great details.
Ari has built an impressive syllabus with so many great ideas on open guard! it's helped me troubleshoot and learn so much. thank you, lovely Sensai.
Packed with so many details that I will keep coming back to for years. Well worth buying.
Made my DLR sick
Great overview of lower body guards. Great for beginners and advanced levels.
Compendium is an excellent title for this instructional. So many awesome details that will give you years of study. Well done Ariel :call_me_hand:
Among the many instructionals I purchased, this one is the most applicable and the most useful. From the first DVD, Ariel gives actionable advices and provides theoretical explanations along the way. Ariel is a great teacher, looking forward to the 3rd volume!
Ariel is one the most underrated instructors in the game. The way he structures his courses are great too

So many techniques I need to work on. NICE!
Really great content and great details
Tons of tiny details that can instantly be implemented to improve your BJJ.
Excellent!
Ari goes over many different types of guard, but mainly focuses on De la riva. This instructional covers almost everything and Ari gives solutions to almost any problem you could have. It is a great value considering how much info it contains.
Extremely detailed DVD covering DLR and RDLR. The DVD covers all areas of the DLR and RDLR, including off balancing, transitioning, hook placement, common problems and trouble shooting. In my opinion, to get the most out of this DVD some basic knowledge of the DLR/RDLR is beneficial. As an experienced BJJ practitioner, this has helped fine tune my bottom open guard game so much!!
Lachlan Giles went to Ariel to improve his guard work. After viewing this instructional you can see why. The level of detail is unparalleled. He has the ability to give you the big picture philosophy you expect from a Danaher video and the detailed competition technique you expect from a Gordon video combined with the perspective of a lightweight athlete that you get from a Lachlan Giles. I recommend getting all his instructionals for a full picture of the modern guard game
This is an open guard series based on DLR and RDLR. The given szenarios are szenarios against standing opponents as well as against opponents in the head quaters position. Furthermore you get some transitions to other guards such as x guard and k guard. The teacher focuses on very clear examples and explanations of every techniques and positional aspects. It is about the position first followed by how they get dismantled and how you can counter that to reset or attack. And of course offbalancing and attacking is deeply coverd too. Recommondation!
